From mountaintops to desert plateaus and from canyon rivers to the Great Salt Lake, the University of Utah's Experiential Learning & Outdoor Recreation Education (U-EXPLORE) program connects students and community to the wild lands of Utah through professional and experienced instruction. With over 90+ field based courses per year in whitewater rafting, rock climbing, fly fishing, nature photography, sailing and more, University of Utah students earn college credit while learning about outdoor recreation in the most remote and scenic portions of America's most beautiful state.
The mission of the University of Utah's U-EXPLORE Program is to contribute to the overall quality of life of every participant by promoting personal growth. This is accomplished through understanding and appreciating natural and civic environments, learning and practicing outdoor recreation skills, discovering the management relationships between recreation and sponsoring agencies, enhancing leadership development, and enriching social interaction among students.
