Worst place to rent a car. This guy yelled at me and walked away. He also charged me $482 instead of $48. They said I drove 180 miles when my total trip was 8.9 miles. Avoid this place by all means. Go to enterprise across the street. This incident was on Saturday July 9 Update Thursday - July 14. Store manger, Anthony called, very polite and sincere. He said the matter will be discussed with the employee and refunded the fee. Thanks Anthony - pleasure talking with you. I went back a few week later rented another truck and it was trouble free, thank you
I had the pleasure of being helped by Ms. Kathleen and Mr. Nick at the Concord location. Both were very knowledgeable and extremely courteous to myself and other customers. As I waited for my service to be completed I could hear both employees being kind and helpful to the people, I witnessed several customers be rude and Ms. Kathleen would just continue with respectful and courteous assistance. Mr. Nick helped me with my check in for a Hitch Install, he was speedy and helpful. Both are exemplary in their attention to detail and customer service.
Wow look at these reviews. Sadly our experience was similar to so many others. Waited in line and overheard the staff interactions with other customers that were snide and downright rude. Raised voices and arguments to rent a van just did not seem to be necessary. Specifically the older lady sitting at the counter was downright surly. One guy even got in another line to deal with someone other than her. Our exchange with her was not as volatile but her comments and demeanor left much to be desired. The vehicle we rented did not appear to be cleaned or serviced recently. We had to stop at a nearby gas station to clean the windshield so we could see to drive it. I would not recommend this location and will not return to this location again.
Driving a uhaul from Colorado to the bay area was very stressful but the return was so quick and easy. Anthony was an absolute angel!
The one star is only given to the gentlemen who signed us in, because he was kind and running around like crazy trying to help people.. I cannot say the same for anyone else. Had an appointment for trailer hitch at 1pm, to WAIT. They didn't even have my truck pulled in at 4pm. I asked for an update and the same guy said he thought it was done, and I said the truck hadn't moved. He went to check and came back and said the manager will be right here. Manager comes, and he says he didn't even know I was there to get a hitch.. and then says he was going to call us to reschedule.. I was clearly confused and frustrated, so he then says he can do it right then, in 30 minutes. I agreed, thankfully, and then it took another hour before he was done. When he was done, he gave us his card and said he would be refunding us the labor charges because it took so long and we waited for so long outside. When we asked for a receipt, he said one would be emailed. One was not. No refund had yet posted. I emailed him the following day, the email was invalid. I tried again, and again it kicked back. I confirmed a refund was posted for less than half of the labor charges, a refund of $60 when we paid $150 for labor, $420 total.. I called the cell number on the card, and reached him and he said while he may have told me that, he only refunds one labor charge and never more so he just gave me the lesser of the two there are two charges, a wiring labor charge and a hitch labor charge. I explained it wasn't fair that he told us one thing and did another, and he said, "Well, yeah that's what we do, we only give one refund so yeah." I will never go back and I do not recommend you do either. PS, if you are a woman, do not go alone. Groups of guys huddle outside waiting for work, and they like to stare and call at you while you wait outside. Ya can't wait in your car because they take your keys. Just a thought!
Sept 2, 2022, 14:30PM - waited over 20 min outside for propane. Only 1 customer in the store. I was reassured several times somebody will come. Had to leave without propan.. nobody looks like really want to help.
I've rented trucks and trailers here. I highly recommend this uhaul location. The staff have always been knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the right equipment for my situation. Thank you Anthony for helping me unload the trailer.
Truly truly terrible customer service. I was slightly late for my reservation on a reservation that says “reservation guarantee” and “pick up any time”, but they’d given the truck away, wouldn’t help me find another one, and didn’t give me any assistance, simply said “it’s the end of the month and we’re over booked.” I then tried to call the customer service line, was on hold for 30 minutes, only for them to drop my call. Moving is stressful as it is; Uhaul made it 10x worse.
Depending on who helps with the transaction I usually get either good or great service here. They have a big supply of boxes and many trucks. Parking can be a challenge sometimes but workable. There's almost always a group of laborers for hire near the street entrance which are not associated with U-Haul but they can be a helpful option if you're in need of help moving something big.
Give a THUMBS UP if this is helpful. Says it's open till 5 on Sundays, but actually only open till 4:30 on Sundays. Open on weekends. Has lots of moving accessories.
