Thanks for renting me a truck with no oil in it on a one way move to Florida!! Your truck died on the New Jersey Turnpike and I had to pay out of pocket to get it towed off, then the real fun began!! We including wife, 2 daughters, dog, cat, and hamster were towed to an abandoned Sears parking lot and sat there for hours being told we were being taken care of and we’re going to be given a pet friendly room.Fast forward 8 hours…we are at a tow company in Roselle New Jersey finally watching our truck being reloaded and finally getting to our hotel which I still had to pay for. Your vendor, Rob Cubala of CES Towing was more helpful than any of your customer service operators were! If you have to do business with Uhaul and you’re in the area…call Rob! Otherwise you’re hung out to dry by Uhaul customer service! We lost a full day of travel, $500 for the tow, $176 for the hotel, missed visiting our son at Fort Bragg, and missed first day of moving into our new home on top of being charged $3000 plus for shoddy equipment. Uhaul does NOT care about their customer’s safety and I will NEVER deal with them again and I will urge anyone I come into contact with to do the same. ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL!!
I used to have great luck at this location but after my latest experience I would recommend avoiding this location at all costs. I had no issues getting the trailer right when they opened but when I returned it later that day the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had asked where they would like the trailer left and the employee very rudely said to leave it where I got it from. No one helped me unhook it and when I went inside to ensure they knew it was dropped off, the employee assured me it would be checked in. A day later, I have received multiple phone calls asking when I will be returning the trailer, even though I dropped it off 24 hours prior.
Convenient and accessible location staffed by helpful and friendly employees. The storage center has a loading dock and freight elevator which makes storing large items very easy. Vehicles are always in great condition and very clean and employees do a great job of setting you up with your equipment quickly and safely. This location is especially good for picking up trailers as mystic valley parkway is a wide road with no parking.
Fraud Alert! There was a fraudulent charge about fuel charge with my reservation. I returned their rental truck even slightly more than the amount of gas 1/8 that was in the tank when checked out the truck. However the uhaul location has billed me $30 for fuel service and 4 gallon at $22.5 This was an overcharge that was fraudulently charged to my credit card. They don’t give you the rental truck full gas or at precise gas measurement to get you later on with fraudulent claims amount the amount of gas the truck had. Be very careful with this location. Shady business practices st work.
I've now had interactions with renting and returning uhauls from 4 other locations so I want to put into perspective the experience I had- NONE of the other shops behaved this way. There were numerous problems with this location. 1. The desk employee was irritated about having to put her phone down to help me. She had curly, bleached hair. 2. She was curt at every opportunity and rolled her eyes. Not what someone on 4 hours of sleep after packing an apartment over night wants to deal with. 3. The dolly was not in the truck. 4. No one did a walk around and they did not explain that the walkaround was now done by text message and the text came an hour and 3 minutes after I left the shop. 5. There were 4 employees there, but only one tall dude with long hair appeared to actually do work. Everyone else escaped from sight at much as possible. 6. The delay in the truck resulted in my movers being stuck outside my apartment for an hour of the 2-hour block, so I had to pay the full moving fee but only got 45 minutes of actual moving help. I highly recommend not using this location even though it is in a decent location. Everything about this experience was stressful, difficult, and problematic. I called the customer service number and they said there was nothing they could do about any of these situations and that I'd have to address it with the shop manager. I went back to the shop and there were literally no employees inside at all. Seriously?
I requested a U-box for this location in particular because it is quite close to my house. The day before I was scheduled to pack the U-box on site I found out that I was reserved for a Box at a facility half an hour away. I had delayed my load date to make sure a box was available at this location, and ordered over the phone so that I could check verbally three times that it would be at the right location. I wasted so much time on the phone ordering and then calling U-Haul to try to get it fixed they couldn't do anything. I'm sure the Box will be in decent condition itself but I am very annoyed that the company could not follow one simple basic fundamental request for an expensive moving service. They gave a small discount on the order but it's basically just enough to cover gas for all the driving I need to do. I'm really frustrated with U-Haul and think that if I could do it all over again I'd just arrange a move by normal freight.
Uhaul Medford /Somerville location. Johnny Jean was very helpful and considerate. I was greeted and waited on right away.
DO NOT COME unless you would like to waste your time. Reserved an auto transport online and they said they don't have the auto transport but they actually have. They refused to rent the auto transport because the system does not allow to tow that specific car but it actually does allow to tow the car when I made the reservation. Arguing almost an hour for nothing.
Absolutely awful experience. No one at the reservation/purchase counter cares about their job. Tried checking in for a reservation and the employee who had gone past his shift in the middle of helping me just left. Following that another employee came in and said he wouldn't help me with my problem and to call their customer service center. Don't expect a good experience if you choose to use their service here.
Absolute worst customer service! Booked a truck with them -mover thru them 2 men 2 hrs. 1st didn't show 2nd shows with 3 men 1 hour got charged and additional $300 to drive to storage only to get there and have the reserved unit on first floor "lost"- get charged another 300 for an hour of waiting w movers and then the 3rd floor unit they give me has elevator out of service! charged ANOTHER $300 waiting for it to be fixed! a week of emails and calls to complain and get a refund only to be blown off - I will just dispute the charges w my CC co. DO NOT USE THEM!
