Make sure if you have the rent from them and you check every part of this vehicle. Including the inside roof and the top of the truck. They charged me $400 extra and never told me. When I called they said there was a hole in the roof and there’s a patch on top they don’t use. So they assumed it was us. we didn’t do anything to this truck so it had to be the people before us and they didn’t check it thoroughly enough. And because we went a long distance, they they checked on the truck thoroughly. It would’ve been one thing if we accidentally made a hole in the roof we would’ve gladly pay for it. But when they said that we patched the roof over the hole, we knew we did not do that. You can’t even fight it. What they say is final.
THERE'S NO OFFICE HERE. Drive down the road to the Plainville UHaul if you're looking for assistance. This location is unstaffed storage units only. If you call the number listed here, the Plainville location will answer. Can't comment on the actual storage unit experience here. 5* for great customer service at the Plainville location once you get there
DO NOT INSTALL HITCH HERE. When installing hitch on my car, they damaged wiring for one of my sensors. Took car back to have them fix as part of installation warranty, and they damaged wiring to my turn signals.
Overall experience was fine. Filled up gas at the end based on estimated gas used. Was within the original 1/16th tick mark of the tank and still got charged. If UHAUL is planning to be this accurate when measuring at the end, provide a more precise tool for estimating.

I went to the U-Haul on west main St. Staff was very friendly. I didn't have any problems at all with my reservation, pick up or drop off.
I don't visit this establishment unless it's absolutely necessary
Went to the New Britain location for the first time to rent a 10' truck. When my boyfriend and I arrived at our reservation time, there were two young women working and trying to resolve a customer issue but were having trouble finding the customer's reservation. They were very disorganized and were taking a long time with no sense of urgency. When we were finally asked if we had a reservation in which we said yes, we were told that their computer system is having problems so they can't look up the reservation. They recommend we go on their website and self check in. We had no trouble trying to do so, but couldn't find on the site where to self check in. When we asked the front desk staff how do it, the first time we asked we were completely ignored because the girls working were too busy talking to each other. Then when we asked a second time , they stated that they don't know and said I should ask a random customer in the store because he just did it. At that point, my boyfriend had to change his tone and asked them to just look it up in the system, which supposedly they weren't able to do before but now figured out a way to do it. Horrible customer service. The only plus was that the U-Haul we got was clean. We decided to return the vehicle using their self service so we wouldn't have to deal with them again.
99% of the time these employees don’t know what they are doing you can have a line out the door or be just dropping off and still wait forever. We need to train the employees on communication, manners and learning how to deal with the computers these people are clueless. Get rid of them all.
