The University at Buffalo Accounting Association (UBAA) is an organization that opens up an entire realm of experiences to the accounting students of the University at Buffalo. The organization is well-known by the business community, both locally and nationally. Activities and events which target the development of networking skills, communication skills, and teamwork skills are planned throughout the school year. These skills and more are essential to be successful in today’s business environment. An emphasis is also placed on providing insight into the various career paths available in the field of accounting. Through technical presentations, networking events, fundraising activities, and community and social events we provide our members the chance to improve those skills in enjoyable and creative ways. Our events provide our members with opportunities to build relationships with alumni, faculty, recruiters, and other students.
The UBAA is affiliated with the Buffalo Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). An association with a professional organization helps to broaden the knowledge of students and is meant to provide our members with both personal and professional development opportunities through education, association with area business professionals, and professional certification in the area of management accounting.
