I was so happy to have found Uchi as I was a loyal Wood Duck patron and was saddened when they retired. Uchi has much of the same gorgeous teak furniture and some other beautiful pieces. I would highly recommend stopping by and checking them out. A+, friendly staff!
The space is lovely and well lit with large windows and sky lights. Its conveniently located and has a lot of the furniture that used to be carried by the Wooden Duck plus some home decor and accessories.
Love Uchi House and its owner Yo, she has a wide selection of teak furniture that are sturdy and of high quality. I also love to check out her vast selection of home decor items, wish I could take them all home with me!
I've driven by this spot so many times and I regret not going sooner! Their selection of wood furniture is impressive unfortunately I'm in a small apartment but their home goods/decorations really blew me away. If you are able, take time to look at all the small things they carry around the store. I found some of my all time favorite coasters here and am still thinking about some of the textiles they had.
Great update on the wooden duck! Same amazing quality teak and lots of new options like beautiful custom cushions for outdoor furniture. They also have a great selection of smaller home goods like woven planters, throws and ceramic succulents!
If you have not stopped yet you should! Uchi is a thoughtful selection of treasures, the color and texture make you feel good. They have much of the same sturdy and well loved indoor and outdoor teak furniture that the Wooden Duck carried, along with home decor and gifts too!
As a long time fan of the Wooden Duck, I was sad to see it close but was quite pleased to hear of Uchi from a family friend. They carry all of the teak furniture and way more upscale home decor. Highly recommend!
Ok, I was so heartbroken when Wooden Duck closed! But to my sweet surprise, long time former employee started Uchi! The teak tables I got from Wooden Duck now have fresh chairs with gorgeous pillows from Uchi. It's such a joy just looking at all the ideas they have, and bringing them home is even better! I love the new space, I can dash into Hida next door, to have my knives sharpened, and have a chat with the owner Yo. It's comforting that Berkeley's soul is being carried on by people who love what they do! Next, a new bench for my moms porch.
I went to Uchi's to look for teak outdoor dining furniture and was more than pleased with what they had. Not only was the selection of tables and chairs of high quality, but the prices were reasonable as well. I was able to create Sunbrella cushions from the huge selection of fabrics available. Yo Akino and her staff made me welcome and were both knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions. I was also able to find an outdoor rug to finish my "room" as well as some decorative ceramic pieces for the tables. I recommend Uchi highly for all your outdoor entertaining needs.
Great place to find teak furniture and accessories. I bought a teak rocking chair and cushion. Great customer service. I had a lot of questions regarding teak, how to take care of my chair and also if I needed to oil it. Everything was explained to me, and I was provided with an information sheet. Great experience all the way around.
