Nationally recognized as a global resource for advanced pediatric research and medical education, we are home to one of the largest funded pediatric research centers in the in the country. Children's is one of only two solely designated California Level 1 pediatric trauma centers with the largest pediatric inpatient Critical Care Unit in the region. They can find where it hurts when a child is too young to tell them. All children deserve a hospital that’s just for them, where the doctors and nurses know how to provide the highest quality medical care without losing sight of the person entrusted to their care. It's why so many children get better under UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland care and have since 1912.
