Why Udana?
The name Udana has special meaning to the owner, as it implies living one's truth and finding one's voice. In yoga, the flow of prana, or life force energy, is an important part of the practice. Udana is Sanskrit for "that which carries upwards" and is considered one of the five divisions of prana, or life force. Udana is the upward-moving, ascending breath, thus directing the flow of prana from the lower to the higher planes of consciousness. Udana is active between the heart and the head, bringing prana to energy centers in the brain. Udana is associated with creative, blissful consciousness of enlightenment. Udana rules the throat center, manifesting as speech and other refined expressions, and governing growth and metabolism. When udana is balanced and strong, we stand tall and are joyous, enthusiastic, alert, articulate, and strong-willed. Through the company’s services, Udana Yoga and Wellness LLC hopes to help clients manifest these qualities through yoga and wellness services.
