Can't say enough about the gym, the classes are great and every MMA style is offered. Classes cover strength and conditioning all the way down to hands on Jiu-Jitsu technique. Membership covers unlimited classes and the gym is accessible at all business hours.
I had wanted to get into boxing this summer and I signed up In July. The website says there is a 10 day free trial but I was told that I couldn't do that and I ended up paying $168 to sign up. I figure "that's not so bad I'll be here putting in the moneys worth and the facilities are awesome". Literally the night I signed on I fractured my patella and tried to send an email to the email listed on the website and got no reply period. I give it a week or two and still nothing so I call the gym and the manager max seemed very unwilling to help me, pretty much just said you have to give 30 days notice and it had to be in person. I'm crippled and can't drive myself anywhere and due to living off campus and working on a graduate program I don't have any friends or family living in Richmond, my mom had to come from VA beach just to take me to doctor visits. 7 weeks into recovery and I can walk fairly comfortably on crutches and have figured out how to drive left footed I'm able to make my way 50 minutes from Chesterfield to henrico to stop being charged by a gym I've used for 2 hours yet paid over $200 for. Once again the manager Max looks at me and treats me like I'm taking up his valuable time, and he tells me I'm going to be charged again. Even though I sent an email requesting to cancel my membership after being hurt which was apparently the corporate email, but my question is even if it's corporate why didn't I get a reply back? Why didn't they at least forward me to the proper channels? The information on THEIR website is wrong and has cost me money I don't have because I haven't worked in 7 weeks. Even after calling they said I had to do it in person regardless of circumstances. This is the part that pisses me off the most, I had to be there in person according to him, yet when I asked to cancel I literally filled out a form that basically amounted to my experience and my name and a signature, yet he didn't ask me for ID or even my account number, just my name, clicked a button, and told me I was going to be charged and I could leave. Sure if you have the money and you build relationships here I'll be it's a great place to be, but my experience with the staff was so uncaring and money hungry it makes me sick. I now have $100 and whatever I can get my mom to help with for the rest of September to live on. Thanks UFC gym, good looks.
So I've cancelled my membership twice now and for some reason they keep trying to charge me. I spoke with Chris about and was told that it would be looked into with no response. So upon the second attempt btw i moved is way i cancelled i drive 585 miles back there to cancel again i have video proof and a picture of the cancellation form filled out and handed to Ben who was working the front desk. I wanted my account reimburse from the last charge but guess that didnt happen. Guess ill be taking them to court behind this.
I had a great time training at this gym but had to cancel due to personal circumstances and cancelling was a nightmare. When I went in to cancel, I asked if I owed anything or if I was good to go and was assured I was fine. So when they charged my account the next month, I cancelled the charge. That caused an additional late fee to be added. I stopped back by and they explained about my contract saying I needed to give 30 days notice to cancel, which is fine and I was happy to pay the amount I owed but now had to pay additional late fees because the front desk staff were incompetent. Of course I am going to take the word of the staff when asking about my bill, but I guess I should have reread my contract instead of taking their word for it. It took 3 trips to the gym and 4 phone calls for anyone to explain to me what had happened.
Gym is nice, friendly staff. Very expensive! Have a monthly fee, then a enrollment fee. My son did the free boxing class which he did enjoy. Gym is just way to expensive for a kid to have boxing lessons.
Good workout.coaches are incredible and they really work with you so you can get the best results.it doesnt feel rushed like other trainers/coaches.And experience doesnt matter even other gym members who does have years of experience is there to help and push you during class.its very friendly and everybody is like family.love this place.highly recommend. Will post some pics next weekend.
I have been waiting in front of the gym and its close even if it should be open. Yesterday I came at the same time also it was close and when you call them its says phone number is out of service. Its just waisting money and time to join this gym and the UFC corporate has to get involve to fix this unprofessional service Immediately
The whole ambiance of the gym is like a fast running virus. Once you catch it...it spreads fast. Coach Davis and his assistant Coach Davis definately related,- a father and son team, get you rolling on the mat immediately. If you are looking to master in BJJ...where student becomes better than master...then you have bèen taught, and more importantly - you have LEARNED.
Great clean gym, positive atmosphere, wonderful staff. Personally dealt with Chris, who was very helpful and is a big asset to the gym. Will definitely be back.
My sister loves it here. Her trainer Angelica is a very kind and caring person who takes her time to get to know who she will be helping
