We are the Urbana Regional Campus of the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Nursing, admitting both BSN and graduate students every year.
Each year, more than 175 nursing students complete coursework and clinical experiences at the Urbana Regional Program and in the central Illinois region. These degrees include:
*The Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) students admitted each year learn basic nursing preparation through face-to-face instruction and hands-on practical learning. Baccalaureate students become eligible to become licensed registered nurses (RN) through completing prerequisite coursework prior to starting the two-year BSN program.
*The Graduate Entry Masters of Science program allows individuals with a bachelor’s degree, in a non-nursing field, to complete 7 semesters of graduate level nursing coursework before being eligible to obtain their RN license and degree. The Graduate Entry students enter the nursing field with an Advanced Generalist Masters of Science degree.
*The Advanced Generalist Masters of Science is a leadership role designed for nurses who want to make a difference in the clinical setting. The AGMS degree is 34 credit hours and 135 clinical hours achievable in 12 months (full-time) or 2 years (4 terms, part-time).
*The Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) prepares nurse leaders for the highest level of professional nursing practice, developing advanced practitioners of nursing into evidenced-based, intra-disciplinary providers who meet the needs of rapidly expanding healthcare field. The DNP offers 15 different specialty areas, all included here: http://www.nursing.uic.edu/academics-admissions/doctor-nursing-practice#program-overview
