The UMaine Residence Hall Association (RHA) is an organization that represents the on-campus student body & provides funding for events that benefit it.
The residence halls at UMaine have their own governing board called Residence Hall Association (RHA). RHA members work to advocate for the particular needs and issues of students living on campus in the residence halls. In collaboration with Residence Life and Auxiliary Services, RHA works to make each hall, as well as the general campus, a better, safer and more welcoming place to live.
There are seven complexes of residence halls on campus (listed below), and each of which has a representative board known as their Complex Leadership Council (CLC). Each CLC works with RAs, ResLife, and students to make life on campus better for residents of that complex. The CLCs are under the "umbrella" of RHA.
The seven complexes are as follows: Knox-Androscoggin, Somerset-Oxford (SOX), Gannett-Cumberland (G/C), Hart-Hancock-Oak (H20), Balentine-Colvin-Estabrook-Penobscot (BCEP), York-Aroostook-Kennebec (YAK), DTAV-Patch.
Each residence hall at UMaine has an ambassador to RHA (RHA rep). These RHA reps advocate for change on behalf of everyone living in their residence hall. RHA reps meet with the Residence Life staff in their building weekly, and also meet with all other RHA reps and the RHA Executive Board weekly.
