We are a cultural organization on Lake Forest Campus, that is committed to sharing with our community, our experiences, that link us to the continent of Africa. Even the littlest detail counts - that story you heard on the radio could be YOUR connection to Africa!
Umoja, which signifies the Spirit of Unity, is an organization that aims to harness the sense of collaboration, integration and acceptance in order to illuminate the variety in culture, language and ideals of the African continent. In order to accomplish and distinguish African culture as unique, beautiful and powerful, Umoja focuses its efforts on educating the college about the modern African continent.
In light of the fact that the college has been extremely supportive of the international community, Umoja would like to extend itself to be a resource for other incoming African students and harbor an environment where they can share their concerns, ideas and help one another to adjust to the life in the USA and Lake Forest.
