Great small town feel but a little pricey still a great place they have almost everything you will need
Very knowledgeable staff. They have a little bit of everything you need, and a few things you didn't know you needed, Not to mention a full service lumber yard. Plus a local business 5 minutes from home. If you don't support local businesses your downtown will end up a ghost town.
Kay in Gateway Kitchen and Bath helped us with the floor plan for our new kitchen. She met with us, and called several times to go over options. We are very pleased with how the whole process went; from design, ordering and delivery. Thank you Kay and the rest of the staff!
Only about 3 customers and they had what exactly I was looking for
There are a couple people that work there in my opinion that need a little more people skills. However there are then again a couple employees there that are very good to me when I come in and make sure I find what I need. But then again I dont shop there a whole lot because I need things in bulk. But I am all about small and local business so I support them no matter what.
Always have the best service before and after the sale. The "tall man" is Cliff and I can't remember ever meeting someone that knows more about building and materials than him. He is a super busy guy. Running this place, stocking, ordering, and helping all he can. Some days are better than others but a very good dude. Their materials may be a bit more expensive than Menards but a special order only takes a few days compared to weeks and everything they sell is a much better than any box store. From doors to 2x4s.
I went into the store for the first time today. It was awful, I never got a hello from the girl behind the registrar. Then they tried to charge me $32 for a $13 bag of grass seed. That is not so bad but the attitude with the girl from the registrar , in my opinion I suggest going someplace else they do not appreciate customers.
Please remember this is the local hardware store. If you are not a "local" you may have a different experience. The tall man that other reviewers are clobbering is not so bad. Whenever I am looking for a hard to find bolt or some other hardware he does his best to help me. Also, whenever he walks down the isles he asks me if I need help. If you are in a hurry and don't have time for a 50 minute round trip to the big box stores give them a try, and don't be so damn critical....it's a hardware store. I get no help at Menard's, the kids are too busy talking about what they did last night.
Lax mask policy endangers customers and staff. We wear masks to , mostly, protect others masks are most efficacious in filtering exhalations rather than inhalations, so why doesn't this business value it's customers and employees by insisting everyone properly wears a mask?
I had 1 key for my horse trailer that I was lucky enough to get at Wills rv. I wanted 2. No camping places had it. I brought the lock and one key to union grove hardware. It took at least an hour but he managed to duplicate by one key. That is true customer service. I bought somethings I didn't need or want just bc I wanted to spend more than 3 dollars for the 2 keys. I know where i'l be buying some Christmas gifts now. Thank you so much.
