Union Hall is a census-designated place (CDP) in Franklin County, Virginia, United States. The population was 1,138 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area.GeographyUnion Hall is located at .According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 18.0 square miles, of which, 14.5 square miles of it is land and 3.5 square miles of it is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 957 people, 407 households, and 326 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 66.0 people per square mile (25.5/km²). There were 813 housing units at an average density of 56.1/sq mi (21.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.51% White, 3.76% African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.31% from other races, and 0.10% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.84% of the population.There were 407 households out of which 20.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.3% were married couples living together, 5.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.9% were non-families. 16.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.60.
