DONT waste your time. teachers do not interact with you AND if you sign up for auto pay and you have a typo in your account information THEY CHARGE YOU FOR THE ERROR. worst experience and such a HUGE waste of money
I will have completed the CMHC MA program next week and will be so happy to be done with my nightmare of an experience dealing the program director and my faculty advisor. There is a complete lack of communication in the program leaving students anxious and frustrated. It’s near impossible to get in contact with the program director and my faculty advisor was not any better. I had to deal with their lack of professionalism for almost 2 years. I would hear from my advisor once a semester and my program director only leading up to required residencies. This being my last semester, I tried to be assertive as I could be professionally to make sure grades were in and that all the required paperwork was submitted. After not hearing back from the director or my advisor when they promised me answers by a certain day, I was left having to reach out again. In the responses I would get from them both, they were rude and trying to downplay the anxiety I was feeling. The education I received at Union was good but it was not worth the frustrations brought on by the neglectful CMHC program director or my advisor.
I was in the MA program, learning more about leadership to better qualify myself as an instructor to teach more courses at a growing, local college. I had already taught at the secondary and post-secondary levels for over 25 years. I was amazed how much the first class inspired me to do more in leadership and develop and use my skills, as well, all within the first four weeks of class. I came to realize this was the Professor's goal, she had it set up this way, to help us identify the leader within us, become an advocate for our own selves, and find ourselves, in leadership roles! All without any pressure to do such, because it was like a discovery course, in leadership, to find yourself and where you wanted to be or go, with what you learn! It was GREAT! I learned so much that I LOVED IT! I could not ask for any more individualized attention. She responded to every assignment with all positive feedback! It was rigorous! Hard work on assignments, taking as much time as it should take to get out of it what I expected and more! I recommend Union Institute & University to anyone whom wants to better themselves with a top quality education.
Dealing with financial aid is a NIGHTMARE. Lost out on a term of my scholarship because they didn't communicate details with me about how I needed to have things paid for.
Enjoyed my PhD program at UI&U. Great professors and wonderful independent earning experience.
Terrible, terrible system. If you are locked out on weekends, you have to wait until Monday and the system of as simple as re-setting a password does not exist. As one seeking for admission for a degree administered online, this is a bad sign.
Outstanding faculty and staff! They are always available for students and offer assistance time and time again. Rigorous program which is a gift to one's learning. Highly recommended.
Encouraged with the developments of coordinating with them.
