If I could give this place 6+ stars I would. It was a beautiful representation of a nice modern look and gave the restaurant a warm home like vibe. When we first walked in they immediately took us up within a minute of getting there. They were so welcoming and after sitting down for a few minutes before even getting the food, my whole family said that they already liked it there because the service was so good. This place is perfect for all ages. Our waitress was perfect and she was super quick. The music was kid friendly and the restaurant had a dark look, so it felt cozy. Great for any occasion big or small and not extremely pricey either. When receiving the food and eating it, my mouth was in love. The presentation was awesome and the food was phenomenal. This is now going to be a go to place for everyone. Even the dessert was delicious. Highly recommend!
First time dining here and we were impressed with the experience. Food: 5/5 They have both seafood and meats from the grille, we did the salmon app which was excellent. Followed by lamb shank get this!, short rib kabob which was good but only a few bites of food. Lastly we had one sushi roll, which comes with 10 pieces and was very fresh and had some good spice to it. Drinks: 5/5 Service: 5/5 We had a small bottle of sake and a mezcal cocktail a piece. The service was amazing and they were attentive and food came out incredibly quick. We will be back.
Amazing and fresh quality fish! The flavors were exceptional and service was top notch! Such a unique menu they offer as well, if only my stomach was big enough for more!
Fantastic place!! The food was exceptional, we had tuna tataki do not miss it!, seaweed salad, dragon roll, spicy mango roll and the hotate volcano. All of which were excellent. We sat at the counter across from the chefs making the sushi rolls and watching them is so mesmerizing, they are meticulous, hygienic and super talented. Aside the food, the best part is that the staff seems so happy! Everyone seems to be in a good mood and the chefs at the sushi counter seem to love their job. Loved this place!
The Godzilla shrimp roll is DELICIOUS! I eat here all the time! The food is consistent regardless if you dine in, delivery, or take out. It’s very delicious! My GO TO sushi spot!
Overrated. Expensive. 260 with tip included between 2 people with 2 drinks. Plus they have a health surcharge on their bill on top of asking for tip. First time I saw that. I’m not sure how this place got such amazing reviews? Must be more of a happy hour place or bar than a sit down for a proper meal. Also the pictures look good but trust me, it’s one of those Instagram restaurants where expectations just do not meet reality. Feel disappointed and scammed. The edamame was tasteless with some bit of mysterious white powder on it. The bbq was burned and dry. Chicken thigh was deplorable. The hamachi was the only redeeming dish. The seaweed salad was so salty and saucy it left me drinking water all night. The rice on the 4 rolls we got were cold and dry. They clearly did not use fresh rice. Could’ve even been pre-made. The avocado tuna truffle specialty was a disaster. A 5 year old could’ve made it- just piles of ingredients on top of the other with some oily chips on the side. I’ve never seen such low effort coming out of a kitchen. It’s shocking. I hope management reads this feedback and doesn’t take it personally but uses it to step up the quality of the food. As a customer, it’s easy to tell when the food is made with care…this food is absolutely soulless…almost like it’s made out of a factory only to shuffle tables to keep the cash register going. Only 2 stars goes to the hamachi which was actually fresh and tasty and the service which was overall good although some inappropriate comments were made regarding our order.
Perfect place to grab a quick bite/drink or bring a date. Lamb chops and steak skewers are amazing. Good variety of sushi and whiskeys as well. They have some seasonal grilled meats which have all tasted great.
This restaurant was a must-try in Chicago. The restaurant is beautiful with sit-down dinner tables as well as bar seats available. The food was delicious. As far as specialty rolls, the red dragon and mango maguro were amongst the best sushi rolls I have ever had. For dessert, we had the matcha shortcake, which featured a very soft, airy cake with whipped cream, and strawberries. We also had the deep dish chocolate chip cookie: it came out warm with heaps of vanilla ice cream, and it was gone within a minute.
This place missed the mark for me. Some of the food was good but so much of it just fell short. Japanese food is meant to have high quality ingredients but you can really tell a lot of the dishes took MAJOR shortcuts on the ingredients. The drinks were great and I would 100% come back for that but would probably pass on the food.
Stumbled upon this lovely place expecting it to be a normal sushi dinner but we had no idea what we were in for! We decided to sit at the bar so we could see the chefs make the food where we met an amazing man named Sushi Mike! After talking to him, we decided to go with the Omakase Chef's choice meal. He and all of the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful, engaging and so much fun to talk to. This was definitely an experience that I will remember forever! The food is immaculately prepared, the flavors were out of this world but so balanced and the fish is so fresh! So much fun and so happy we had to meet the wonderful "Sushi Mike"! P.S. Definitely try anything with the truffle honey sauce or the Chilean Seabass.
