Description

United Orthodox Synagogues (UOS) located in the heart of Houston, TX is home to a wonderful community of over 350 families. As the #1 Modern Orthodox congregation in the Southwest, we are proud of our diverse membership, which includes singles, couples, families with children, college students and people of all ages and backgrounds. Our convenient inner-loop location allows regular participation from those who live right here in Willow Meadows, as well as Meyerland, Bellaire, the Med Center area and beyond. Our inclusive and open policy makes Jews of all denominations truly feel at home.

UOS is proud to offer a broad range of programming. We serve as the regional headquarters for Bnei Akiva in the Southwest and sponsor exciting weekly programming for elementary and high school-aged youth.

Don't miss our popular Shabbat morning services with vibrant, kid-friendly programming and an exciting sermon by our very own, Rabbi Barry Gelman - which culminates in a large and lively social gathering over food and drink. Thought-provoking classes and other fun and informal get-togethers continue throughout the day and extend into the week.

The UOS trademark is our unparalleled hospitality. See our website or send us a message to arrange for a personalized introduction to our community and synagogue, and to experience an unforgettable Shabbat.

Customer Service isn’t good. They have Young people that work here with nasty attitudes. Store is clean the Notarize is great ! but they even talk to him like trash. Hire better people , the only reason I go here is because it’s close instead of going to all the way to Office Depo.
Rabbi Radinsky Z’l was the Tzadiik of this city. I came to this shul because of the love and respect I had for Papa Joe he was like no one else I miss him and love him and not a day goes by where I don’t miss who he was and the legacy he kept going from my Great Uncle Rabbi Max Geller may his memory be a blessing
I come from a Conservative background, and yet I instantly felt right at home at UOS. Most of the congregation is warm and friendly, and both Rabbis are eager to assist the congregants. This shul is the closest thing I have to family in Houston, and I hope you feel the same when you join us.
Annual Men's Seder... always fun and with great food.

A warm and welcoming community. In general, the Jewish community in Boston is a huge and pleasant surprise for those who don't know.
