Home delivery “service” is inconsistent and sorely lacking. Some carriers cut corners, like leaving cardboard packages in the dirt 100 yds from front door near the road instead of at the front porch gate. They tear up and down our driveway like bats out of hell. Almost all the residents of our lane are elderly or disabled, like me. Sometimes carriers leave boxes with $$$ contents printed on the box sitting atop the row of mailboxes instead of delivering to a semi-hidden spot close to the houses. They fold and rubber-band mail that clearly says, “Do Not Bend” right on the envelope, wrecking your stuff. Carriers cram your box full, folding & tearing stuff, rather than sticking it in an available parcel box just below. Somebody has zero interest in doing a good or careful job. It’s not everybody. They‘re super grumpy - never smile or say hello. It’s like they HATE their jobs. By contrast, UPS around here is top notch - super efficient, congenial, and always going the extra mile - which makes our USPS seem even worse. Disappointing off and on for the four + years I’ve lived here. They could do a lot better!
This USPS has broken 16 of my packages over the past year and destroyed my Etsy business. I use Etsy to pay for food. I wasnt able to get food stamps this year
I own a business on Main Street, and constantly get packages left on the sidewalk when the store is closed. I've called 10+ times begging them not to leave packages on the sidewalk, and to leave a note if we're closed. It keeps happening. I've had packages left on the street overnight because they were dropped while I was on vacation. Thank the gods I haven't had a package stolen yet!
Never had any problems at the post office itself, but we recently added a security gate on a private road shared by 50 residences. The post office makes deliveries during the day with their regular drivers, but the arrangement they have with Amazon for night time deliveries is a problem. We almost never get Amazon deliveries handled by the post office that are intended to arrive before 9:00 p.m. because they don't give their night time drivers the security code to the gate. I've talked to them about this before, and they do not care. Nor does amazon. I now buy from Walmart if their price is close to Amazon because they actually do meet their 2-day delivery promise because they do not use the post office. They use independent contractors.
This post office is hand down the worst post office I have ever dealt with. When the mail person delivers packages that hardly fir into our box they will make it a point of craving stuff in there and breaking it i stead of driving the extra 50 yards to our house to drop it on our porch. Tonight I didn't have a package delivered because the USPS note read "Driveway was unaccessible." We had the front door wide open with a perfect view of the driveway and nothing was blocking it. Checking security cam footage they never even made it down the street. Will be checking the rules tomorrow to see if we even need to have our mailbox along Bodega Hwy. Last time I checked it was more of a convenience situation rather than a necessity. I had Amazon put down USPS as a last resort for deliveries and I suggest anyone who has had issues with them do the same. I'm over the excuses of "lost packages" as well as having packages crammed into our mailbox causing them the break.
LOW QUALITY ETHIC... I had a particularly rough day last Friday, just when I thought the stress was beginning to subside, I checked my mail box for a photo calendar from a friend that I was expecting... I nearly cried when I saw the sharply folded yellow envelope from my friend... I haven't even opened it because I was so upset by it, absolutely ruined... It had to be forcefully bent to achieve a crease in that material, flexible but thick stock, so not as flimsy as a magazine... I receive junk mail catalogs that arrive in perfect condition, so theres just no excuse. I have noticed a major decrease in mail service quality as of lately... There is no excuse for folding our mail to the point of creasing it, you can band it without damaging our mail... Perhaps this office needs new management.
I frequent this post office often. And while it's often busy, these hard working postal workers always try and keep the line moving and still provide really good service. I would like to see more customers better prepared when they are called to a window.
Great team staff. Finally having a lobby assistant that comes out to reduce wait time in line is very helpful. Also mail pick up on the side double dutch door is very helpful as well. Good job!!!
They are terrible. It is as simple as that. I ordered some glasses through amazon and they said they were coming on a friday but actually came two weeks later on a monday. I will definitely never use them again.
They don't do customer service here. You better have all the answers when you use their services. And a lot of the employees are really rude. Such a nice town should have a much better P.O. I hate going here. I'll even drive into SR to avoid going to this PO, even though it is local to me. This post office sucks.
