I've had many experiences with going into the New Smyrna Beach Post Office for various services. I've been here when there's been a long line and when there's been very few people ahead of me and it's hit-or-miss as to how quickly they get people taken care of and out the door. I've not encountered any above average customer service but nothing subpar either. One area for improvement would be to adjust the current closing time from 5pm to 5:30pm. ADA Accomodations: - Large parking lot with 3 ADA spaces in front of the entrance and 50+ regular spaces - x2 ADA friendly ramps leading from parking lot to sidewalk for easy access - ADA-Friendly Motion sensor automatic opening doors on both entry and exit of the post office Miscellaneous: - This post office seems to always have a nice supply of priority flat rate shipping materials on hand - They allow you to drop off pre-paid postage packages without waiting in line unless you need a receipt for dropping off - There's a blue drop box outside in the parking lot
literally has the dumbest carriers of any post office i've ever had to go through. literally told us we had to do something THAT IS AN OPTIONAL THING. said we have to set up our parcel delivery service lockeran optional add-on bc the package was "too heavy" to deliver to the door. nice try because the package literally weighed under 3lbs and was a PLASTIC WATERBOTTLE CLEANING KIT. lazy employees. and i continue to have nothing but problems.
3rd time now this post office has sent back packages due to "ADRESSEE not known at this location." Yet they will deliver utility bills, bank statements, and stuff with personal information on the same day.
After reading all the other reviews, I'm pretty certain one or more people employed with this post office, is stealing gift cards out of Christmas cards. Don't ever mail a gift card out, or a let someone send you one unless it's in a plain business envelope with heavy stock paper inside. There's at least 1 Florida Man working at that post office.
Our experiences with this post office and their staff have always been positive. The staff is friendly and professional. Our postal carrier is equally as friendly and professional.
The most incompetent post office I’ve ever dealt with. Said my package was delivered last Monday and then said it was delivered again Tuesday. I talked to the carrier personally at the post office and said he hand delivered it to the box. I’ve checked the mail everyday and my package wasn’t there. So either your carriers can’t read, or they’re thieves. I see I’m not the only one that’s had this issue.
By far the worst post office I have ever been to. I run multiple small businesses and ship out hundreds of packages a week. The carts by the drop off station are always full and I’m always met with attitude when I would like a cart for my packages. I often print scan forms to make things easy for the employees but apparently that gets me no where. I’m truly just in disbelief at the lack of management here.
Long wait times and rude managers. Some people are very nice but the majority of the staff just doesn’t seem to care. They need a complete overhaul. Just take the extra time to drive to a different post office.
For two years in a row my PO Box did not auto renew even after going back and setting it up again. Did not receive any notification that the payment was due, just found the box locked. I had difficulty signing in to the USPS site and had to wait for and 1 hour and 40 minutes on hold to have to wait another 20 minutes for the support rep. After logging in I found out the box is closed. The online rep contacted the NSB center and was told I need to go there and pay. The problem is I am working out of town and my wife is working while they are open. I called directly to the post office and ended up talking to the "front supervisor" that told me the the same thing and was very unsympathetic. I have a PO box because they do not deliver to my home yet there are post office vehicles that drive past my house on a regular basis. Not a very professional or compassionate location. I am currently looking for alternatives but will still be a pain to have to change all my mailing information.
We have had packages claimed to be delivered, that were lost in the mail. We find often, that the delivery date of important mail is shown delivered on an earlier date than it actually was. Many problems with this Post Office. The tone of "uncaring" reflected in these other Reviews is precisely often what one feels when asking questions, guidance or assistance on matters at this Post Office. Truly, "one hand does not know or care what the other hand is doing" at this establishment. Even trying to get help from the Management still leaves you wondering "who is in charge here?". They tend to "stick together" and will not incriminate one another, probably because they expect the same in return from their co-workers. With Postal Costs doing nothing but increasing at unconscionable rates, this is dismal service. People deserve better treatment.
