Lots of negative reviews, but many are for USPS or home delivery service not for this location specifically. I had a great experience and loved the location when I went mid day on Thursday. The lady at the counter was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There was only one other person in front of me and service was quick. Most impressive was the self serve kiosk for shipping. I wish we had one of these closer to us. Lots of PO Boxes and nice that there is a table out there in the area to organize your mail. USPS gets a bad rap sometimes, but fortunately I've always been happy with their good service at a good price. You may not realize how good you have it until you go somewhere where the standard is worse. Location is nice and tidy outside befitting a government institution.
Walking up to the Counter at the Post Office in Saline Michigan, you are greeted by a smiling face and a warm welcome. Paula a USPS employee assisted me renewing my United States Passport today. Her attention to detail, kind demeanor and informational conversation reassured me that my passport renewal would be processed properly. Paula, literally found a mistake that was overlooked by another Post Office; ensuring I’d receive my passport on time without having my application mailed back and forth multiple times. Paula represents the very best of the United States Postal System. Thank you…..
I have lived in many cities across my home state of Michigan and I have yet to see as awful of a post office as this. Virgil is rude. The woman he replaced was rude. They do not call back when you have an issue and the refuse to resolve anything. This is how they delivered my package. When I called to inquire he was supposed to call me back, but claimed his employee never told him. When he asked for the tracking number he disappeared without a word. Then, he said yep, it's damaged. They left it outside, exposed to the elements, completely open. They could have held the mail there and called me, as has been done for me, in several other cities I have lived in. They knew the contents would be destroyed leaving it in the rain and they blamed the shipper, without so much as an apology. This is far from the first time we have had issues, in fact, we have had small businesses ship UPS to our home, to avoid our service, because when it is lost or damaged in transit, it is always when it gets here. UPDATE: I called and spoke to a supervisor at the main number and she was LOVELY. As it turns out there are indeed procedures for damaged goods they are supposed to follow and there are standards for employee/customer interactions. She gave me two numbers, both which have already proven very helpful. They are helping me with my package, and filing a form misconduct complaint. If you have any issues, I really recommend calling, it was a great experience.
Verges I think he said his name was. Was awful nasty tone of voice on the phone!,,,, just nasty condicending. I love saline post office but he’s not a customer Servace mam. Take him off your phone
Whoever Virgil is there, is just about the rudest rep I have had to talk to in years, makes me not ever want to call the post office direct for help which I am sure is the intention by the tone of the conversation. Update: Never..ever have something come international through this post office, they held it since the 10th, but noooo they don't hold mail, I get told like I'm some sort of child notified me on the 19th it was there and never before, slapped a sticker over the courier number I gave them at the time of asking for help and marked it counterfeit postage, then charge me 5.60 to pick it up. Absolutely ridiculous.
I received a notice that I had a package waiting for me at the saline post office. I didn't realize the date or that it said final notice on the slip. I work a lot of hours and I got off early unexpectedly and was able to go in to pick up my package. The lady at the counter said that it was returned to sender and noted the date and the final notice on the slip. The postmaster came out and confirmed what she said. I was pretty disappointed. Until a couple hours later. The postmaster came to my door to deliver my package that he tracked down himself. Title well deserved, postmaster.
Every time I go to this post office In Saline, I say to myself I’m never going back. You talk about miserable & condescending! I will drive miles out of my way to go to another post office. The self service kiosk was down, so I unfortunately went to the counter. Big mistake I should of walked out! You ladies must have a union that protect your miserable attitude! By the way Happy Holidays!
I think these guys do a great job on what's likely limited resources.
<<<< A NOTE that my review is for the store only, not the mail carriers or the speed of the shipping services >>> The customer service at this store has been exceptional. They always remind customers to complete the survey, so for those of you on here who have had bad experiences I would recommend you fill that out. I have asked the counter workers if those surveys are read and reviewed and they told me they are. They said workers are praised or criticized if there’s constructive criticism. They’ve even said if they receive so many good reviews they’re given a meal of some kind for their team. So again, if you have constructive criticism or praise fill out the survey. Remember, these are government paid public service workers. They’re not private sector, they’re not ups or fedex.
Each time I go I'm impressed by the staff at this post office. Truly nice people who care about your mail. I even had one staff member offer to drive my mail to my apartment after hours since my lock was getting replaced on my mailbox and the carrier hadn't made it back in time to drop it off before closing. I wish more people could be as nice as the people in this post office!
