The representative at the counter was extremely helpful with my issue and helped me right away There was no line and couldn't have been nicer

06/11/16: With today's lost parcel I am so fed up that I wish I could give zero stars to this dump. I have lived in West Chicago since December 2008, and I have had nothing but problems with them. I never receive my bills and/ or outgoing payments never get to their destination, and my parcels are lost AT LEAST ONCE PER YEAR. I had a PO box about 6 years ago that I used for parcels I purchase a lot online and I had to close it because my parcels were consistently coming up missing. Whenever I complained the manager and the postmaster would fall back on "since you didn't insure it and it was scanned as delivered to your box there's nothing we can do." This is the same issue with my mailbox at my apartment. The most recent occasion of having a lost parcel was today, when I called the office and rude manager Larry told me very clearly that I am out the cost of my purchase and my product because the parcel shows "scanned" at my building. When I explained that the building's mailboxes are all fed from one huge slot he still said it was my problem. Unreal that I have to pay for insurance which is sometimes half the value of purchased item because this post office is inept. I have had everything from cleaning products, textbooks for school, and makeup come up missing. This has become such an issue I prefer to drive out of my way to the Wheaton post office to make sure my things are cared for properly.
Actually a pretty great experience. We had an issue, and not only did was the person on the phone great, but the carrier was extremely helpful. Our issue was resolved in hours! Much better experience than most post offices. We understand that people can have problems at times, but it is more important than ever to recognize the positive as well!
After 7 years living in my address, the delivery mailman keep sending my mail to the wrong address
Okay, so I usually don't have to deal with this location because I live in Bartlett but my package was sent here from the CAROL STREAM IL DISTRIBUTION CENTER. It arrived at 5:31am and then at 8:07am I got a package alert: insufficient address.. and its being returned to sender.. it made its way all the way from Florida with no problem but had an issue when it arrived in West Chicago. So I drove 20 mins to this location and then had to argue that my package was there. After awhile they finally locate my package and it was smashed up. The address and everything was perfectly fine. I can understand all these 1 star reviews. I really hope that i don't have to deal with this location and feel bad for anyone who receives mail from them on a constant basis.
The mail person assigned to our house is the worst and rudest person ever. He refuses to deliver packages if it’s inconvenient for him. Only him. No other delivery service has any issues but HIM.
I've seen very positive changes at West Chicago post office and I have to upgrade them to a 4 from my earlier 1 and 3 star reviews. My most recent visit to the post office was to get my passport, and the ladies at the front desk and the ladies working in the rear that I spoke with were knowledgeable, efficient, and very friendly, pleasant people. Thank you for making my passport experience so fast and easy. This is an update on my earlier one star review. Not sure why, but I've seen improvement at West Chicago post office beginning this fall. The postal workers manning the counter are doing much better keeping the lines shorter, and are moving customers through as quickly as possible. Happy to see this positive change. Original review: Something has changed radically for the worse at West Chicago post office. Today, at about 1:30 p.m., and for at least 10 minutes, and probably longer, judging by the stack of boxes on the counter, there was no one at all on duty in the front lobby. Initially, no one responded when we called out, asking for service and to see if anyone was there. A few minutes later we noticed that the supervisor's office had two people in it, and as we called out to them, they responded very harshly to us. After their response neither of them moved to come help anyone or to get help for us. Something is very wrong at West Chicago. The facility is a mess, sensitive packages are not taken care of and are left on counters where anyone could take them, and isn't it kind of risky not having anyone on duty? By the time I gave up and walked out there was a line of seven or eight people behind me, with no one helping them and no one on duty. From now on I will visit the Winfield post office rather than West Chicago. I have never seen anything so unprofessional at any postal facility, and believe me I've seen a lot of postal facilities! Yes, I did try to phone them but they apparently take the phone off the hook during business hours.
Never ever will I be back again. Just was trying to drop of a box of wedding invitations to mail out before they closed and the lady at the front desk was EXTREMELY rude and as I was taking them out of the box to hand them to her, she grabs them and the box away from me and says she will just take the box and dump them in the bin. Without asking for them or anything. There is no reason for a tone or to be unprofessional. Do your self a favor a drive the extra mile or two and go somewhere with nicer staff.
Updated Review: Things have been mailed off and received when I’ve sent things and I also have received all mail and packages that I have been expecting. The packages have also been in better shape. I’m changing my 1 review to 4. Thank you for improving! Original Review: This place is HORRIBLE. I have had several things mailed to me and I never received. They are rude, very disorganized and they don’t take care of the packages as two of mine have been torn up and roughed around more than usual. Their staff doesn’t even understand and speak proper English. They make USPS look really bad and something needs to change here!
