Universal Timber Structures is a company located in Polk County, Florida that has been in business for 57 years now. Our customers chose us for our wood engineering expertise. We specialize in the following, Heavy Timber Manufacturing, Truss Manufacturing, and Installation of our Materials. We offer computer controlled production equipment to create a more consistent quality product. We offer full design-build services for both large timber trusses and metal-plate connected wood trusses.
At UTS we focus on providing excellent engineering services, relying on computer-controlled timber production and fully-automated truss fabrication equipment to ensure the final product conformed exactly to the design specifications. We use “Building Information Modeling” (BIM) software to render a three-dimensional image of the building. This allows us to show our client the design in 3D and allows our engineers to see the geometry of the lay out and this allows them to see what is expected.
Our approach is being involved to the greatest extent possible, from the initial design and engineering phase to the completion of our work. We work with homeowners, architects, and general contractors.
During our process we meet with our clients several times, during this process we have a “Realizing the Concept” meeting, were we look at the design ahead of time and conduct the initial analysis, and this is where we essentially get to know the look and feel of our customer’s needs and we also get a sense for budgeting constraints they may have on a project in which we provide as much help as possible.
Our lumber is not sitting around our warehouse, we order our lumber on an “As Needed” basis. This allows for us to ensure fresh lumber for each job we provide for.
Not only do we manufacture the wood for your new home, church or office building, but we also can install your roof. We offer the installation of a complete roofing system; from trusses, to tongue-and-groove roof decking, to the nail-based roof insulation for that R-value that is so needed. We design the roof system to that even sprinklers can be installed above the decking, allowing the sprinkler head covers to be flush with the ceiling profile.
