Best place and cheapest place in the Gainesville. They have good pool condition, free wifi, parking , new application fee, free parking space,
University Commons was perfect for student life. It's in a nice location near all the stores you need, and getting around on public transportation is a breeze. Having your own washer and dryer in the apartment was nice, so no need for laundry room drama. The place is well-kept, the management is cool, and the pool area is a good spot to hangout. It's the real deal for a convenient, comfy, and community-oriented student experience.
Great location and affordable living. Buses run every 5-10 minutes and it’s conveniently located to Butler street. Maintenance request were always resolved within 1-3 days. The office was always helpful about any questions I had. Great first apartment for college students.
Unresponsive management and unattended front desk. Unresponsive maintenance, very dirty premises. Paying a couple hundred more a month is worth living elsewhere. Only benefit is somewhat cheap and somewhat close to campus.
Save yourself the misery and sign somewhere else. From bike thefts, to lazy and deceitful staff, this place has nothing going for it. Rooms were small, staff lie to you and won’t give you what they promise get things in writing, to drug deals and the homeless hanging around the area. Only pros to staying here are that it’s close to campus and that the maintenance staff are friendly and do their best. Everything else is quite disappointing.
UC is one the best places i’ve ever stayed at. Not only is it affordable with a lot of amenities by the management is so nice. They were very welcoming and kind. They really made it feel like my home away from home. The location is also so convenient and nice, it’s close to campus and butler plaza. I would definitely recommend UC to any incoming or current students!
Terrible management that does not stick to its word. Before signing, they promise you upgraded features and specific amenities inside the apartment but once you sign and they capture you in a contract, they give you something else and do not stick to their word. The management does not stick to their promises on the upgraded floor plan/side of the apartment. They say it’s a first come first serve basis for room preference but the management lies to you this way for you to sign. Please I urge you to find some other place, the management is aware of issues they face but does not care for extra security to combat loitering and theft in the community. Worst decision signing here!!! Pros: maintenance takes 4-5 days on average Cons: poor management, loitering late at night, lots of weed smell, elevated theft in community, partying loud at night.
Alert: Dishonest Company!!!!! Almost immediately after giving deposit money, I was told what I was told in writing, by Internet, and by the leasing agent was all fraud, and the apartment and things related would cost much more than I was told. I was swindled and lost my deposit money. Do not trust them!!!
I like the place. It is beautiful. The pool is dirty to the point that the health minister came and put a sign on it and the jacuzzi is always closed. The night light is also not enough.
I signed a year lease, 2019 to 2020, during college. For the price of rent $475 a month when I signed, now $500 the apartment was reasonable and good, compared to other places with rent hundreds of dollars more a month. The Good: There is two bus stops super close to the complex that come all the time and the bus ride into campus is quick, about 8/10 minutes. There is TONS of parking with no decal or assigned parking. This was super helpful when I had friends over, since they could park anywhere and not worry about towing or being in another persons spot. The apartment is spacious enough for 4 people, with two people sharing each bathroom. My room and closet were not huge but honestly bigger than expected/ needed. If something broke, it would be fixed not always quickly but still fixed without having to pay a fee or anything. I would say this place is great if you have 3 other friends with you, you can make it cozy, cute, and a happy home with some time and effort. The Bad: A common theme runs through these reviews and it is that the management team is sub-par and simply unhelpful. Calling the office multiple times gets nothing done and it is only when you actually go the office to "pester" them in person do they actually take the time to help you. I recently called to ask a question about my final payment in rent and move out procedures and was meet by a receptionist ? who told me that I would be called back shortly by the property manager. They never called me back and I figured it out myself. Another common theme in the apartments is washers breaking and flooding the apartment. About a month into our lease the washer broke and flooded the entire living room. It took days for it to be cleaned up and dried. This was inconvenient and not a normal thing that should occur. Additionally, our toilet broke wouldn't flush properly and it was "fixed" several times but broken again a few flushes later. It took WAY too long for management to answer our maintenance request to get us a new toilet installed. The pool is nice but had a lot of bugs and leaves in it. The gym is dirty, messy, and has broken equipment. Overall: I hope this was helpful. I remember when I signed my lease and then read the reviews, I was super scared and nervous. I was mad I didn't check the reviews before hand. But I definitely do not regret living here, it was a great first apartment. I wish some things went differently. I don't know if I would recommend this place to others but I will say that for the price I got what I paid for. I can't say I was "duped" or "cheated." I definitely would have considered staying another year simply because of how cheap it is and how it is mostly an okay place to live as a college student, compared to being in a dorm, or super expensive apartment/house.
