Great park for both small and large dogs. The park has 2 areas for dogs to play. Lots of trees. Dogs get to run and enjoy a large area with a small water pond in each of the areas. Nice parking . The parking area is located in front of a water treatment area so area smells unpleasant sometimes. There is a water hose by park entrance to use . Good place to take an active dog or a puppy.
The University Dog Park is a nice facility centrally located on the border of Bryan & College Station. There's plenty of space and it never feels crowded or unsafe. We visit regularly.
It was both mine and Choppo's first trip to the dog park, although only 6 months old, I had no idea how he behave. We avoided the scary thought of him getting into a dogfight when we we're able to go to a separate park next to the other Park they had the park separated it was cool so he got to play and check out the other dogs through a fence I was so relieved and he was a really good dog with the other dogs I know I did he would be I'm glad he is we're coming back again and again
The dogs are typically friendly, it's a good place to let my dog be a dog and get some socialization time. There are always toys, tennis balls, and sticks lying around to throw for the dogs, a fair amount of seating, shade, and a pond for the pups to cool off in. Be sure to know your dog's temperament with others and set your own dog up for success. The park is typically crazy busy on weekends, and quieter during the morning and the work week. One major drawback is there are a lot of young adults who are too busy socializing to watch their dogs, and I've seen a fair amount of preventable fights break out. There are also venomous snakes and snapping turtles, so be sure to keep an eye on your pup, especially if they're crawling through bushes and in the water.
I really like the size, seating availability, shade and the pond. The fence is great and good agility equipment. However, it can get crowded. Somehow this park is prone to having some aggressive dogs come in that shouldn't be in a dog park.
My friend Quentin who knows I do reviews goes to this amazing honey hole with his sister and he pointed it out to me. When I walked into this community treasure with my friend Monica, her husband and their dog Winston I was imeadately taken aback by both the size of the place as well as the amount of amenities offered. Two fenced in yards allow the big dogs to be separated from the small, there is a playground for the kiddies and even a grassy area that would be great for frisbee. Plenty of parking, drinking fountains a place to wash the hound off when your done and to top it all off it's definitely the HOT SPOT to meet people. Channel comes here with her pair of Wippets which are similar to greyhounds but smaller and if I knew I would meet her there I would of been waiting with flowers. I rate this spot a super grade honey hole:
The location of the dog park was nice, not too far away from the center of Cstat. However, the small dog side was not very well taken care of. The grass in this area and around the surrounding fenced in area was very unkempt. Also there is a giant pool of very stagnant water in the back of the area that will absolutely breed parasites and mosquitoes. If you have a large dog, that side looked a lot better. I will be looking for other dog parks to get a better comparison, but for small dogs this is not the best spot.
Large park with giant pond and plenty of dogs to play with. It even has dog agility obstacles and benches next to trees that provide shade. Comes with bags to pick up waste. My dog loves visiting, and is always so excited to play with the dogs here.
Really nice outdoor area with lots of trees, shade, and places to sit. Also about as clean and well-kept as a dog park can get. Almost all dogs there were very friendly and playful.
This is a huge park with 2 sides. The bigger dog side is fun with obstacles and the little dog side is cute with a little pond. I never knew my dog liked water until she jumped right into the puddle. It was hilarious and I made sure to bring a towel the next time we went. Great space for friendly dogs.
