Free research based programs for Arkansans in every county. Ag, food, family, money, 4-H and business.
The "statewide campus" of the Division of Agriculture makes it a unique unit of the University of Arkansas System. The Division's two parts are the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES), which has research as its primary mission, and the Cooperative Extension Service (CES), which delivers appropriate technologies and information to the people of Arkansas.
Division faculty and facilities are located on five university campuses, at five regional Research and Extension Centers, eight Branch Stations and other locations. An Extension office is located in each of the 75 counties in cooperation with county governments.
Extension offers free programs and resources to every citizen in the state in the following fields: family and consumer science, food, money, agriculture, animals and wildlife and youth development, ranching, business development, voting, beekeeping and much more. Extension Services in Arkansas offer something for everyone.
The mission of the Division of Agriculture is to advance the stewardship of natural resources and the environment, cultivate the improvement of agriculture and agribusiness, develop leadership skills and productive citizenship among youth and adults, enhance economic security and financial responsibility among the citizens of the state, ensure a safe, nutritious food supply, improve the quality of life in communities across Arkansas, and strengthen Arkansas families.
The mission of the Cooperative Extension Service is to provide research-based information through non-formal education to help Arkansans improve their economic well-being and the quality of their lives.
The mission of the Agricultural Experiment Station is to generate, interpret and communicate information and technology for use by individuals, families, communities and businesses.
The Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service offers its programs to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, age, disability, marital or veteran status, genetic information, or any other legally protected status, and is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
