Yesterday, I had an unsettling experience that led me to visit the emergency room. The discomfort I was feeling was quite concerning, but fortunately, my visit turned out to be an incredibly positive one. From the moment I stepped foot inside, starting with the friendly security guard and the intake staff, I was met with a team of amazing individuals who were not only helpful but also displayed a genuine sense of positivity and kindness. Although I regret not being able to recall everyone's name, I do remember meeting Dr. Adams during the triage process. Following that, I was assisted by a team of dedicated nurses and a nurse practitioner. Without exception, each person I encountered was not only kind and professional but also went above and beyond to help me in my situation. Walking into a large hospital like that, one might assume that personal care may be lacking. However, I can confidently say that my experience was quite the opposite. The staff demonstrated an exceptional level of care, providing me with the assistance I needed and ensuring that I felt supported throughout my time there. I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who played a role in my care. Your kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help made a significant impact during a challenging time. Thank you for your dedication and for making my visit to the emergency room a positive one.
Having read reviews I was a little hesitant to bring my 8 year old here to the ER for her arm. But I thought I'd give it a shot since moving to Denver. I have to say although it was a little wait maybe in total like an hour we were in and out pretty quickly. Everyone was gentle with her and always let her know what they were doing and even did blood pressure on her other arm. Luckily it wasn't anything major except bruising and a sprain. They even gave me a wrap to use for her to help keep her comfortable for the next week or so while she tries to get better. Overall a pretty good experience.
Came into the ER at 3 AM with extreme back pain, the security when I was checking was downright disrespectful and has no sense of empathy. She was intimidatingly STARING me down like I was being dramatic, seemed annoyed and rudely responded to my partner about where to stand in line like we were incompetent. Nurses and doctors were amazing with me though! Took my concerns seriously, I almost left feeling happy but that female security guard needs to be fired or taught some basic human decency.
My daughter and newborn granddaughter had the worse labor and delivery experience known to man. I will be writing a formal or official complaint to let as many people know what transpired so this doesn't happen to another family. Right now, I am fore warning you, that you should try another hospital, anything other than University. Our baby ended up in NICU on account of their practice and health administration. Thank God we are out and receiving the best care for both of them through other practices and Children's
Ridiculously terrible customer service. I bring my 95 year old grandmother to the hospital for an appointment and they have NO wheelchairs available and waited well over 30 min to obtain one. My grandmother can't walk and I am in disbelief that this is how they are treating their elderly patients.
This is a horrible hospital to come too one of my family members was shot at a party and we rushed over her to see how she was doing and they would not tell us nothing nobody came out to help us we asked for the doctors over and over again and nobody came to help us. There was one of our family members boyfriend we knew yelling and causing trouble that we had no part of, and the police wants to come in and tells us that we are trust passing and we need to get off there property we told them we had no part in this but they did not want to listen so we asked for the head doctor why do we need to leave and he said “that we were causing problems and we need to leave” so we asked is our family member okay is she breathing at least he said for that “person protection we can tell you anything because we don’t know if you are even her real parent,” like how is that possible when we have been asking over and over again can we see her how is she doing is she okay is she even breathing nothing but the security guards laughing at us and make jokes about the incident outside. I hope this hospital will change there ways and be better because what you guys did was wrong.
Why is the hospital such a long walk FROM public transportation? If you ride the train, its 0.8 miles from the Colfax station to the outpatient pavilion. If you're coming from Fitzsimmons, it's 1.2 miles. That's a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong walk in hot Colorado sun with no shade in the summer, and ugly winds and ice in the winter. And let's not even mention the meth and tranqheads in the area. The city and state should be ashamed of themselves for such poorly designed access to a taxpayer supported resource. That's only one complaint of many but it should tell you a lot about what the hospital stands for and what the hospital/city/state's priorities are. Tell us again how many Kia and Hyundai's were stolen from the parking lots over the past 4 years, please. Walk, drive, or train, this whole place is best to avoid if you can at all help it... not everyone has that option.
Went to visit a family member who was ill and needed surgery. Google Maps directed me to the back of the hospital where there were like six different buildings and several parking area. I finally drove all the way to the front and went it thru main entrance. Once inside it was even more confusing to get around. 5 different elevators to different parts of the hospital. After much confusing I was able to find my relative prior to surgery. The nurse told me what procedures they were doing and even took my name and number down. I returned home. After surgery I received 2 separate phone calls from both surgical teams. That was outstanding . I have never been more impressed by a medical team and this one. Thank you for your care and understanding of families.
This hospital has always taken good care of me and my daughter especially when she came so early and more even after me going to aurora south twice and being misdiagnosed and given poor help there I got all the help here and the nicu staff was amazing I got there now for my current pregnancy and it's been nothing but amazing g and helpful this place needs to get better reviews because it's such a good hospital and everything and I even worked there for a couple months temporarily and it was amazing and I believe this hospital should be high recognized for having a. Great team and employees ND more
Run far away from this hospital. UCHealth Denver Hospital is a disgrace. Go to St. Anthony, go to Swedish, anywhere but here. My fiance' has a terrible condition that flares up several times a year and puts her in 10/10 agonizing pain and non-stop nausea and vomiting. She has a very specific protocol that has been proven to work at other hospitals in Colorado and out of state that relieves her symptoms and allows her body to reach stability again. UCHealth doctors not only won't administer her protocol, because they don't want to have to monitor her, but they actively try to reduce her treatment every chance they get while she's in so much agony that she wants to die. When I am at UCHealth advocating for my fiance', I manage to come close to getting the doctors to do what needs to be done and they do so while I am there. As soon as I leave, they go back to not providing the care that has been proven to work. How can they be so heartless to let a vulnerable woman experience such pain 24 hours a day? The attitudes of the doctors and many of the nurses are despicable given the condition my fiance' is in. The only reason we came to this hospital again was because my fiance' had a flare up while at a conference at a nearby hotel with a friend who isn't experienced in caring for my fiance' when she gets sick. UCHealth was the only immediate option. After leaving my fiance' in such agony for days, with PTSD compounding, my fiance' checked herself out against medical advice while I was not there. UCH made a vulnerable, drugged patient who was under the *duress* of excruciating pain sign a waiver against the hospital and then didn't even give her any discharge instructions or prescriptions. She had an infection that they were treating with anti-biotics and they didn't even give her any instructions for how to treat it at home. Shame on UCHealth.
