This is the official page of the Neonatal Fellowship program at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
The Neonatal Fellowship is a three-year fellowship divided into clinical service rotations and research. Clinical service rotation is split between Norton Children’s Hospital NICU, the University of Louisville Hospital NICU, and the Neonatal High-Risk Follow-Up Program (clinic). Fellows also may be asked to accompany the Just for Kids Transport Team during the transport of a critically ill infant.
Research time is devoted to clinical/laboratory research and outcomes research. Fellows will also use this time for reading, independent study in the sub-specialty area, and preparing for lectures and teaching. The program’s research link to the basic sciences is considered a crucial and mandatory element of our fellowship training.
