Received a citation for parking in an unauthorized spot but had my card declined every day for two weeks straight on their website until the fine doubled and my card was accepted. To make it worse, the person I emailed about it was incredibly sarcastic, rude, and offered no help at all. The parking office alone makes me ashamed of an otherwise good school, 0/5 stars
They’re so worried about trying to give you a ticket that they won’t catch people breaking into your car or sawing your catalytic converter off. Thank you for being terrible at your job!
They gave me a ticket on the first day of classes. I wrote an appeal day of and they haven't replied in weeks. Thanks for ticketing and then not responding to already struggling college students.
As an employee, I’m so thankful for the parking office. My car battery was dead at the time didn’t know this. I originally went to the parking office just to see if I could get in after hours to have my husband take a look at things once he got off work. The gentleman that was present today offered to give my battery a jump. It was worth a shot. Thankfully, it worked, and I made it home. He probably thought nothing of it, but I’m so grateful!
I was invited to the University of Louisville to give a seminar last Friday. I arrived at about 10am and was given a visitor's parking permit to use in the half-full lot next to the building I was visiting. I displayed it on my driver's side windshield, as instructed. At the end of the day, I found a citation on my windshield for $40 because I didn't display a valid permit. When I went to appeal the citation, I found multiple photos of my car on their website, including 3 with the visitor's parking permit clearly visible. When I appealed, they did back down, but not because they admitted any wrongdoing or gave me any indication of what I should have done differently, but because I was a "first time visitor". I had a good visit with the department that invited me, but my new goal is to be a last-time visitor.
I called with some questions. The office answered the phone and were extremely helpful and nice!
Just an all around awful experience, I give thousands in tuition to this school and they can't even give me a free place to park to attend class. And then riddle you with tickets anytime you park in an unauthorized spot for more than a couple minutes.
If you do want to appeal a citation, good luck. They have incentive to deny you as they get $5 extra in ‘administrative fees’. Also their office is inept, they’ll try to scam you into buying a permit you don’t need or be forced to use the ever dwindling number of shuttles that stop running before classes end.
Went there on the Thursday before classes started and they wouldn't let me in despite the fact that I got there ten minutes before they were supposed to close. Then I went back again on the weekend but they were closed the entire weekend as well, right before classes start. I then went back again Monday and the line was over an hour long. Finally got up to the front and they said my previous parking pass was sold out, so now I have to park all the way across campus from my dorm. I get back to my car to move it and I have a $40 ticket for having a parking pass that is one day expired. Thanks **Edit** My original 1 star review is now 3 stars because when I went in to pay my citation the clerk was nice enough to void my ticket. Probably still a 2 star experience but I'm in a good mood
I would give 0/5 stars if I could. UofL parking is a perfect example of how colleges steal as much money from students as they possibly can. Here’s one of my many terrible experiences with campus parking: I received a parking ticket after parking and paying for 15 minutes at a meter behind the financial aid office. I needed to pick up a copy of my financial aid records and I assumed that it would only take 5 minutes if that. I went inside and found out that their printer was having technical difficulties so I told the man working at the front desk his name was James that I needed to leave to put more money in my meter. He told me exact words, “Don’t worry about. You’re fine.” So I stayed there for another two minutes or so and when I walked out to my car I had a ticket. I tried appealing the ticket and explained that a UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEE told me not to leave the office to put more money in my meter, but the parking office denied my appeal. Campus parking does not care about their students. They’re going to make you pay hundreds of dollars for parking passes and then ticket you even when the ticket is absolutely unreasonable. I know that reviewing them on here will probably do nothing because they already have 1.5 stars, but still…do better, campus parking.
