University of Maryland Health Partners is a Medicaid Managed Care Organization. Our health plan serves members in the Maryland HealthChoice program.
UM Health Partners is a new kind of health plan. We believe that good care depends on working closely with our members and their doctors to provide the best possible care. We promote strong doctor-patient relationships through supportive care management strategies and innovative technology. We work in partnership with our health care providers by getting rid of administrative hassles that can be barriers to good patient care. We work closely with our local partners because we understand that all health care is local.
University of Maryland Health Partners is building strong, collaborative relationships with providers in order to overcome the historic contentious relationships that adversely affect the care of our members. We are an inside out health plan. This means that we are field based and working in the communities that we serve.
Our case managers spend the majority of their time with our members in their homes and physicians’ offices ensuring that not only physical health, but behavioral health and social needs are addressed too. Our provider relations and outreach representatives work directly with providers and community partners to ensure that together we are providing the highest quality of care to our members.
