I've only been in the conference room, but it and the bathrooms are always exceptionally clean and cool. Good AV equipment on hand. Hope we continue to meet there.
UNT Medical ignores the safety of their students! During a severe cold freese, UNT failed to cancel or change early morning exams until after 6:30 AM the same morning of the exam. I had just dropped my wife off on campus when she got notified of the exam time change. Buildings were closed and she had to call campus police to find out the only open building was the library. All the school leadership were still probably at home drinking coffee next to the fire while students risked their lives to make exams that should have been canceled the night before. Professors and staff always preach don't procrastinate. They need to listen to their own advice and stop procrastinating with students lives and safety! So many bad reviews and barely any replies from UNT. Basically UNT does not care and just wants to pad their pockets with money and ignore students and customers.
Cancelled my doctors appointment I had waited 2 months for. Reason given was “doctor not in today.” Was told another appointment would be in 1 month. Such bad service. Also I’d like to add going to the osteopathic manipulation clinic is a bad experience. Always running 1 hour + behind but still expect patients to arrive on time! Bring a laptop or book.
I was a student in the MS in Medical Science program. I finished with perfect grades. This is my review of the MS in Medical Science program at UNTHSC. Dislikes: - In courses, they tell you to use a textbook when the textbook was never needed. - For lectures, they list articles that you don't need to read, but include them as mandatory reading. Students would spend hours on unnecessary material in an already condensed class schedule. - Filler classes that I don't believe were conducive to my learning. - e.g. Certain classes were not useful App & Skills, which has been revamped by the Program Director, Health Disparities which was just unfortunate. Think the professor replying to students with "Sent from my iPhone", while not answering any questions. The class was so awful they said "you'll just get a ton of points back at the end" to make up for a lackluster syllabus. - Biostatistics was a very bad experience. Articles were just dumped and they left us YouTube videos to watch. Like....what? The entire class had to use one stellar student's notes from the year prior. The professor teaching was an absentee, *semi-retired* instructor...what? - Epidemiology project was weighted nearly 40% of your grade. If you have poor teammates, some people will have to pick up the slack, but you all get the same grade. I had to spend an extreme amount of time to overcompensate for absent teammates. They removed the project for 2022-2023, I believe. - Pharmacology was an extreme amount of material in a short period of time, for a 2 credit class. And the margin of error was way too slim for losing an A. 4 tests + 5 quizzes, you can only get like 13 points wrong total before you lost your A. Also...the class was like 3 weeks. - They took away the ability to see your exam answers in the Spring for review. What's the point of studying if I can't even learn where I was wrong? They offered a very clunky workaround though to provide "feedback" on areas of to improve, because they didn't want to show you your answers for security reasons. Anyways, that was a load of BS because the very next semester we could see our exam answers, in a different class. - Too much content at times or inability to learn what to focus on. I remember one time one lecture was like 100 slides. Not fun. - Discussions it's like a forum where you have to make a post and people reply. Truly a terrible experience, and forced upon us. TAs with egos who at times graded way too harshly e.g. you used wrong grammar? points off for you. Did a terrible job at simulating "being together" when in reality it was just a race to the bottom. At one point the professors mandated "you can only reply to a post that hasn't already been replied to." Many students were scrambling to find a post that hadn't already been replied to, while also trying to meet the deadline to publish their post at the same time. Complete chaos - people would write their post to reply to others, and then find out someone else had already replied to the original author's post. It just reeked of a lack of empathy for student time. - The MCAT course in the Summer was a complete disaster, many students felt like they had been screwed out of applying on time. The program did nothing except say "we hear you - and we're sorry". That's it. - Extra fees, like graduation fees, AFTER you've already paid your entire balance. - Short interaction time with professors, poor response rate, some won't bother to write letters, telling you to go email someone else. The good: - I thought exams were mostly straightforward. - When the class did poorly on an exam, they adjusted the grades. We got a curve for Biochem, and a bunch of points for Cell Bio, and a ton for Physiology. - The director seems to listen to feedback. - If you can ignore the loads of unnecessary reading they state is "mandatory", slides are enough to get an A in all classes. You have to know everything though. I felt the program was mostly poorly designed and that we were guinea pigs of sorts who were forced to adapt. I wouldn't go here again.
Doctor appointment cancelled out of the blue less than two days before appt day. Waited 2.5 months for it already. Wasn't really given a reason why either. Doesn't seem too patient-oriented to me but what do I know. Hope they improve over time.
1. They forgot to give me my flu shot last appointment despite specifically requesting it 2. They forgot to give me a list of therapists that cover my insurance 3. My doctor insisted my Nexplanon is not the cause of my increased depression, claiming because my depression got worse after the implantation rather than at the same time it was just put in. Don’t think that’s how hormones work but ok. Really wanted to ask her if she’s had it herself. 4. I’ve been prescribed anti anxiety medicine solely based off of a 5 questionnaire. They’ve NEVER given me a referral to someone who can give me an official diagnosis. My last appointment, they prescribed me a new medicine with 80mg more a dosage than my last one. They didn’t even tell me the side effects I’d experience while switching medicines, and it was awful. I don’t know where else to express my concerns with all of this. But I do know I will be seeking a new doctor ASAP.
We would like thank UNTHSC Clinics especially Pediatrics for helping us with appointments and timely referrals. Service has improved a lot. Yes there is a scope to reduce the wait time to answer the calls. Thank you
I am currently a patient of 1 of the doctors. Dr Wong & his staff are fantastic. They are kind mindful & always ready to answer a question or help with a prescription. I was quite loyal to Pa Edens & Pa Jacqueline Bacchus. No one has to wait very long . The staff take as much time as is needed I couldnt ask for a better Dr or better care .My prescriptions are on time & i have a print out everytime i leave. I am so happy with the care i always receive.
#1 I asked for a referral to a pain management Dr. and was told to find one myself and they would give me the referral, that's their job not mine!! #2 My health insurance tried to make an appointment for me today and they were told that they sent me a letter saying they would no longer see me and would not tell them the reason why, I never received any letter!!!
Absolutely do not come to this office terrible service, they never return phone calls, it takes 15 minutes every time just for them to answer the phone, and wait time was ridiculous I was at an appointment for over two hours. I should have trusted the other bad reviews. If someone rates this place with good reviews they have never been to a decent pediatricians office. Also you dont see a Doctor just a PA
