The University of Northern Iowa offers multiple exciting, affordable opportunities for students to earn bachelor's or master's degrees in community health fields. This includes a BA Degree in Health Promotion, with specialty areas in Fitness, Women's Health, Global Health, and/or Environmental Health. Students can earn double degrees for the price of one, and also have opportunities to graduate in three years with a BA degree. Students may also earn a Minor in Teaching Health Education, as well as Certificates in Global Health and/or Environmental Health. They can continue their education at UNI and receive a Master's Degree in Health Education in two years or less. Students graduating from these programs can work in a variety of community health settings, including county and state health departments, non-profit organizations, corporate wellness sites, hospitals, clinics, and outreach facilities. UNI faculty in the Division of Health Promotion and Education have won numerous state and federal awards for their outstanding teaching, service, and scholarship. Many are recognized subject matter experts and well published nationally and internationally in their fields, and provide excellent mentoring to their students. The UNI Division of Health Promotion and Education also has an excellent reputation for receiving grants and contracts for applied research, evaluation, training, and technical assistance to multiple organizations locally, in the United States, and abroad on health promotion topics.
