The University Row Neighborhood Association
Objectives:
1.To join with neighbors in the spirit of cooperation, support, and friendship to proactively discuss and address mutual concerns and to solve neighborhood problems.
2. To create, preserve, enhance, and promote the unique qualities of the natural and architectural integrity and beauty of the neighborhood.
3. To encourage appreciation of the neighborhood's diverse population by creating and enhancing cultural opportunities which represent the existing diversity.
4. To improve and maintain the properties, streets, alleys and public green spaces in the University Row neighborhood.
5. To build cohesiveness, pride, and respect among the residents of the neighborhood.
6. To work in conjunction with the City of Dayton, other neighborhood organizations, associations, and the Northwest Priority Board for the purpose of accomplishing the association's goals.
7. To actively and tangibly contribute to the overall growth, development, and enhancement of the city of Dayton.
8. To maintain an ongoing commitment to ensure achievement of our mission statement by exercising appropriate action(s) to ensure accomplishment of that commitment.
Mission Statement:
The goal of the University Row Neighborhood Association (URNA) is to form and organize an association between the residents and institutions located within the areas designated by established boundaries into a functional organization for the purpose of:
1. Establishing productive, positive relationships between neighbors,
2. Determining ways to mutually enhance neighborhood properties and property values,
3. Addressing, in a mutually beneficial manner, issues and concerns with adjacent neighborhoods and residents, and
4. Generating a dialogue with city officials and representatives who further the interests of URNA while supporting the projects, processes, and policies of the city, thereby creating a positive relationship between the URNA organization and the City of Dayton.
