University Village at Kenner Korner Apartments

I've been here since May 2022. I've feel safe and its a good place yo live. Apts are small, but rent is very reasonable. Management changed in Oct 2022. Former and current staff has always been very responsive, friendly and helpful. Residents are mostly respectful, friendly and helpful to one another. It's clean and fairly quiet. I don't hear the people next door, but do hear everything in the front hall. Quite a few residents have dogs, but I don't generally hear barking. Laundry room with 6 washers/dryers. Vending machine near laundry room. Building is aging, so I've had some plumbing issues, but they were quickly addressed. There's only 1 handicap accessible apartment - mine. Kitchen is adequate, but not much cabinet or counter space. Electric stove. No flames allowed on the property smoking, candles, grilling, etc.

Recently moved to buena vista was happy about getting apartment I was under the impression AMY was the manager as new manager was coming along DEBBIE AND ALLEN nothing was fixed before I moved holes in the walls , no paint job , and the bedroom window didn’t lock nor had a screen in the window . Mind you I paid my security deposit which was 535 and then I paid my pro rated rent amount which was 275 according to them I couldn’t stay in the apartment until power was on that was perfectly fine but in the lease it doesn’t say neither is that illegal according to the officer ! This is an awful place to rent from don’t do it !!!! Haven’t even moved in yet and already having problems

For a newlywed like me, these apartments have been absolutely amazing! I have enjoyed the freedoms of living with my husband and getting to know my neighbors better! Amy is absolutely amazing and so helpful for whatever I need! She always goes above and beyond to fulfill my needs! We love it here!

I lived here for a year when I was a Junior at Southern Virginia University and working on campus. The location was very ideal and the rental rates were great. A few years back it had somewhat of a reputation but the property manager has turned things around. Now there are lots of Southern Virginia students and couples living there and it is a great place for students to live. I always felt safe and never had any issues. The walls were a bit thin, but people were generally pretty quiet. All in all, the location is great and you can live here on a budget. Protip: I always lived on the ground floor but from what I saw the upper floors seemed a bit nicer if you can get into them.

Had a decent experience here. It is a perfect little place for newly married couples or for single people looking for cheap rent and a private room. Apartment manager Amy is great and is easy to contact and quick to fix stuff. I recommend getting your own internet.... The free internet they offer is unreliable. Walls are a bit thin, but normally it’s not a problem. Very close to SVU so if you’re a student then it’s perfect. The hardwood floors are nice too. Be generous with the fan above the stover when cooking things. Smoke detectors are a little touchy. LIVE ON THE TOP FLOOR. Ground floor has zero natural lighting and feels like you’re walking to your apartment in some back alley.

I had a great experience renting here. The proximity to SVU was fantastic 5 minute walk to class max and there is plenty of parking although it is tight, but don’t worry you’ll get used to it. They have free internet, but be advised it isn’t fast enough to reliably stream video. Apartment manager Amy is great. Overall a great experience.

These apartments are awful! If I were a parent I wouldn't want my child living here. These apartments are full of drug addicts and the manager Amy trys to sleep with all the guys that live there and this came from a guy to me who is a tenant there that she was sending him inappropriate text messages about having sex.And I believe it because I know for a fact she use to date a girl that lived there that I know. I thought these apartments were for college students not local drug dealers and preverted managers! I'd like to know who owns these apartments they need to do some serious changes and get all new tenants!

My lived at this apartment for a year and has paid his rent faithfully every month on time. Now it's been well over 45 days and they say that can't refund his security deposit because they don't have money right now.

Such a great place with great neighbors!
