Upper Darby Police Relief Association: Benefiting the past, present and future HEROES of Upper Darby Police Department.

Description

In 1979 a few members of the Upper Darby Township Police Department met for the purpose of supplying benefits to past, present, and future members of the police department. These members wanted to supply benefits for life, sick, accidental and hardship to members in times of need. These officers incorporated the Upper Darby Police Relief Association on October 3, 1979. To this day the relief association provides benefits for retired, present, and future officers as well as the families of these officers. The Upper Darby Police Relief Association is a tax exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (9) or 501 (c) (8) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Mission

The Mission of the Upper Darby Police Relief Association is to receive and maintain a fund or funds of rear or personal property, or both, to use and apply the whole or any part of the income there from and the principle thereof exclusively for the payment of life, sick, accidental, or other benefits to the Upper Darby Township Police Officers, active and/or retired and their dependents or designated beneficiaries
