At Upper West Side Dental we understand your need for a dental practice that truly believes in putting the patient first. That is why we provide gentle dentistry, excellent customer service, payment plans and flexible hours. Going to see the dentist is scary for some, so taking a day off from work or taking your child from school is an added stress that is unnecessary. Dr. Shirley extends his hours until 10 p.m. and is open on Sundays. Upper West Side Dental's interior is completely renovated, sleek, modern and inviting. We provide cable TV and radio for each patient while they are being seen. Didn't bring a snack? We have you covered. Beverages and fruit are offered to each patient while they are waiting. I can’t rate them a 10+ because this rating system only allows 5 stars. My daughter needed to see a dentist immediately. Wisdom tooth was in extreme pain. She was fit in for an appointment for the same day!!! The office manager Ana went above and beyond to provide exceptional service while booking the consultation, to giving step by step instructions as to what the process was. Then assisting in helping me to set up an appointment with an oral surgeon. Dr. Benjamin Shirley was AMAZING!! He was so thorough and explained everything to my daughter. I will and have recommended this office to my friends and family. Thank you
Had a pleasant visit at Upper West Side Dental clinic. Dr Shirley was very through in my check up and really spent time explaining technical info I wasn’t sure of. Appointment was very easy to made, no long wait time. Staffs are super nice.

This is the single most efficient, "easy breezy" for lack of a better phrase dentist office I've been in the care of. The staff is always pleasant and meticulous, with open communication both in person and electronically. I've had two visits thus far, months apart, and Dr. Shirley has been consistent and works incredibly quickly, and not at the detriment of your care. I also love that they play your choice of music during the appointment to add an extra layer of comfort. The office space is quaint and clean. Covid protocols are excellent for those still cautious about appearing in person for appointments – rest assured that all staff including Dr. Shirley are masked, and temperatures are taken upon entry. Very pleased with UWS Dental!
UWS Dental is the perfect practice for a safe, reliable, transparent, friendly dental experience! The staff is incredibly kind, patient, and helpful when it comes to understanding your care.
Great practice here! I never have to wait, the whole appointment is short and efficiently run. Dr. Shirley explains things well and assistant staff are super nice.
Please do not use their services, they are unethical. This feels less like a medical establishment and more like a money making machine. Sadly, it doesn’t matter what you ask the team here to do. No matter what you ask for, they’ll do whatever they want once you’re in the chair to charge you as much as possible. We outlined beforehand the services I wanted and the associated costs. My bill didn’t reflect our conversation none of the extra charges were medically necessary I went to another dentist months later, who told me that all of the recommendations made by the dentists at UWS Dental were unnecessary and for the purpose of up charging. - The administrative staff is very aggressive, they’re ready for a fight. - This establishment, from the doctors to the administrators is void of morals, once you hand over your card it’s over… you’ll get charges for things you didn’t sign up for. - They called me to schedule other appointments, I kindly declined any future appointments citing my displeasure with my previous appointment… they scheduled an appt anyways for me and then charged me a rescheduling fee, and missed appt fee… I am just so frustrated and crestfallen by this bad experience, I had to cancel my credit card because of them. Medicine should not be like this. There’s many great dentists in this city, go elsewhere
Dr. Shirley is the example of a good dentist. He’s professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I would highly recommend.
Top tier customer service, Dr. Shirley and his team made my experience quick and easy. Any questions or concerns I had were answered and explained thoroughly, I highly recommend this office!
