Martinique came to my rescue and put my mail on hold on Monday. I tried to do a mail hold request with another postal employee on Saturday but she didn’t follow thru on my mail hold request . I can count on Martinique to do her job and she takes care of customers like their mail is her mail. Thank you Martinique for your customer care. I appreciate your service. You give postal employees a good name
I scheduled a passport appointment for 5 of my children who are on Spring Break this week for today April 21, 2023. They call me saying they need to cancel because their clerk who does passports had an Emergency. Ok so you don’t have another person to step in for this person? Meaning you have one passport person to service the whole town? And then I have to go back online to make another appointment that will now have to go into their school time because you fail to plan? Come on Liz do better and plan better. Annoyed at this point. Ill take my business elsewhere.
Very friendly and with helpful information. Clean, safe fast service no long lines.
Both women working in store on 1/4/23 at 430pm were kind and knowledgeable. There was a line and the one lady kept thanking each customer for waiting. They have some flat rate shipping boxes, discounted Christmas printed boxes, tape is behind the counter due to people stealing it apparently. Also have a greeting card display rack as well as an assortment of gift cards!
Pink haired employee made me jump through hoops to check where my lost mail has been going
Spoke to Karla to get help with my delayed package. She kept sighing & making noises over the phone as if she were annoyed. She would also put me on hold without letting me finish talk. She then said I can’t be sending packages to my job only to my home. I asked her to just deliver my package. She then said “uhh no” then hung up. Maybe she thought she hung up? Called back & spoke to Liz, same thing. Would put me on hold without letting me finish talking. She asked me for my tracking # & when i was about to tell her she said “no hold on” & put me on hold. Answered back and said “Armory rd?” “ARMORY RD”. It was a company package. I understand its busy but keep in mind you don’t have to be so miserable. Both have poor customer service.
Never had any issues here except wait time. Usually that's on the amount of people or the system though. The people working have typically been nice or at least helpful. Mail has been timely and only issues have been elsewhere in the system so far. Could use a good update and maybe a second location to help with the load.
I am only rating USPS Barstow because my Google search for its opening time made me aware of its low rating average. It certainly isn’t a well-stocked shipping store as some USPS locations tend to be in bigger cities. And it certainly isn’t a one-person operation with close personal customer-postman relationships like some small towns tend to have. But it is a Barstow landmark, reliable and perfectly functional, with friendly employees and ample parking. My Grandma had a P.O. Box there for decades and when staying at her house, the trip to get mail was an important part of the day, memorable and fun for us grandkids and a daily routine for her well into her dementia-filled final years. Sometimes the daily newspaper or radio stations would use it for their “Out and About” interviews. My Grandma was pictured in the paper quite often over the years and getting in the newspaper was a big deal to us not that long ago. So maybe I see the Barstow USPS office as basically the same as ever and a nice pillar of the Barstow City Center, and don’t see what it is expected to be that it is clearly not for some people. It’s a Post Office in America, dependable like clockwork and exactly as advertised and expected to be.
I don’t usually leave reviews unless I receive traumatically terrible service. This is an exception. My first two months living in Barstow, I had endless frustrations with this post office. Every time they didn’t follow delivery instructions, I’d have to spend two hours and a quarter tank of gas, wait in line and try to rectify “Why aren’t you delivering my mail?!”. Today I had the most incredible experience and I can’t say enough about the wonderful woman who’s in charge whenever I go in I believe her name is Carla but I can’t remember for sure. She now knows my face and address and gives explicit directions to new postal workers and even sent out our held packages today so that we wouldn’t have to drive to town to pick them up. I didn’t know this, and so I drove in anyway and brought along with me a package that had been mistakenly left in our drop box. The lady kindly explained that it was a FedEx package and even assisted me in how to contact the people the delivery was meant for because their address doesn’t show up properly on google maps. I have now met a neighbor who has quickly become a new friend. Greatest service I’ve ever received at USPS and I’m grateful for the hard-working employee who has done her utmost to put an end to my frustrations with receiving packages.
I live in a very exposed apartment complex with no security gate between the alleyway or the street. They have repeatedly left my packages if they ever actually do deliver them outside on the sidewalk in in front of my door and have never once knocked or even pressed the doorbell even when i made a sign telling them to please ring door bell with arrows pointing to it. Ive had several packages stolen and a few times i risked ordering high value items and by some miracle they were still there an hour or two later when the notification came. I normally wouldn't have an issue if it was rarely a thing but this is a constant thing with every thing ive ever ordered and was usps delivered. When ups or fedex are carrying they ring the doorbell at least. I don'tsee how even that is too much of a burden for these postal carriers. It's ridiculous.
