They sell expired box wines 2 years old. Check the tiny date on the front. I bought here twice foolishly two different brands - Barefoot and Black Box. Staff is also not friendly, doesn’t smile say hello nothing. Terrible shop great location.
Extremely rude staff and the pricing on the shelves are not matched at the register. The worker, may be the owner?, will make you show him the price on the shelf and then say the sale price is wrong. Just not nice people to deal with. Walked out. There are outer places in town to buy wine where you'll be treated with more respect.
Location has lots of products to choose from, but I have never had such an experience like this place, especially coming from New York. I am often coming from work, so in business professional clothing. It is just weird. There are nicer places with better staff in the area.
If i could rate this place with 0 worst liquor store in nj, employees very rude and disrespectful, everything is over price, do not go there.
old bald man at the register is very rude. there's a $10 minimum for card purchases so i paid with cash in my pocket and was .20 cents short. he basically is in a bad mood 24/7 but lately has had a really hard time of keeping himself from being nasty to people. i've seen some of the other responses and the experience for me was similar. old bald man at register is rude to people and when they go online to write a review they say something along the lines of "we're sorry for the inconvenience we'll forward this complaint along to our team etc.," but they really don't care because the same rude bald old man has been working at that register for years now.
Good selection, comparable prices to other locations. Good location
This is a nice place. Very good variety for the size of the shop. The owners / operators are pleasant. Gets quite busy on holidays. Prices are generally quite competitive. If in Secaucus, I would recommend this place over any other liquor shop in town. Also to add - they often have tastings and deals for those items on tasting tables. That's the most fun part.
I visited when I was in town and the owner introduced me to a whiskey I'd never tried before. I'm glad that I went in, I'll go again when I'm back in town.
Deserves zero stars. So I use to live around the area so when my boyfriend would come visit me from Brooklyn, we would come to this liquor store to buy alcohol. On the first visit to this liquor store alone, my bf told me that a staff member followed him around throughout the store. He brushed it off, grabbed what he needed, paid and left. He did mention how uncomfortable this employee made him feel and that he would not be returning. Today, he happen to be in the area and looking for mini champagne bottles for my birthday party. As much as he did not want to return to this location, he figured he’d give it one more try. And just as he expected, another unpleasant encounter with the staff. One staff member followed him yet again. I asked my bf to take a picture to decided which bottles I wanted as they will be part of the decor for the party, and a staff member asked him that he couldn’t take pictures. Not a big deal, however, when you continue to have Unfriendly encounters with staff at a location, you are bound not to ever do business with them again. This establishment and staff should improve on their customer service and treat all customers equally. As for us, we will gladly drive the extra miles to avoid ever setting foot here again!
As a current service member, I occasionally ask for military discounts. Not all liquor stores offer it, but some do. Having never been to this location, I tried my luck. I certainly don't expect a business to provide a military discount if that is not their policy. However, when I asked the cashier if they offered military discounts, his expression was one of scorn and contempt as he shook his head. I was taken back. His expression was unwarranted. I had simply asked him a question. Needles to say, I am not coming back. On a different note: They have a good selection of Japanese whisky, albeit 3 to 4 times above market value.
