Amazon uses them for delivery, but they won't deliver to your front door... So if you have a package, that's bigger than a tiny mailbox than you'll have to go pick it up at the Post office anyway. So what's the point of having Amazon delivery? If they use the united states postal service that will not deliver? Good? Good question, good question, good question.. Just another bunch of lazy government employees...
Word to the wise, despite local hardware stores selling all sorts of mailboxes only the PO decides the what, where, and how of your mailbox--not you. Don't be like me! Check with the PO first. I want to support my local PO, but they are making this harder than it needs to be. It's on us to uncover all these hidden rules, it's on us to fix our equipment that they require us to have, and at the end of the day I was made to feel as if it was my fault that my box which the previous owner installed broke.
They are always super nice at this location, very helpful, never had a bad experience here at the location. However, some of our mail has gone missing since moving to Port Angeles and we've been involved in so many disputes between this USPS and online stores with the tracking info saying delivered but no packages arrived.
This is possibly the most disorganized "business" I have ever seen... in every way. Delivery drivers smashing boxes into mailboxes, countless "delivery attempted" only to have a note that says go pick it up at this location...get down there and guy behind counter says "dunno" shrugs his shoulders, says "there are 4 full bins back there" and I can't find your packages... then before I can speak says "want to speak to my supervisor"... you could tell he's been down this road many times before.
Helpful, friendly and efficient staff, as most places are if you start with a smile or a joke. Once our package went to Iowa when we sent it to Oregon. The manager took the time to track it down and said to come back in two days if tracking didn’t track it going where we intended. Great local office! Our carriers are prompt and accurate, like a Swiss bank or watch.
Constantly not delivering my packages, putting them into somebody else's mailbox because you don't want to deliver them to my house because it's too big for my mailbox
I haven't had a problem with the Post Office in years and years. Does my mail show at the same time everyday? For the most part. Do I get the service I need if I go into the office? Yes and its been pleasant. Considering the amount of work these guys/gals have on there plate I think they do a pretty good job.
Bogus dog bite claim from a tiny poodle that no longer lives here results in me having to drive 7 miles into town to retrieve any packages I order online that doesn’t fit in my mailbox. It’s been 1 1/2 years since this happened and the dog no longer lives here since shortly after the “barking” incident. I’ve tried numerous times to fix this and nothing will get my packages delivered to my house. I suppose the post master or attorney general is in order at this point. Keep in mind there is and was no threat! And even if the pansy driver felt threatened, I HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THAT “THREAT” 1 1/2 YEARS AGO!!!!! It’s more of an excuse to not have to deliver my packages at this point. And if there was a way to change Amazons delivery setup, I would choose a different option…..but I can’t. You bet I’ll be ordering 5,000 bags of peanuts and NEVER PICKING THEM UP! One bag a day should keep them busy
Wonderful staff...I have profound respect for each & every one of them...I have seen them go above & beyond to help customers. I myself once behaved in a manner I am not proud of, and not only was my behavior excused it has not been held against me in any way since. Also, the line moves really fast there. Utmost respect to all at Port Angeles Post Office.
I was expecting a package the other day, but it didn't show up and the tracking says the house was vacant but it was not. I watched the mail-person put junk mail in my mailbox and then drive off the same day. The house wasn't vacant I should have received my package!
