I’ve had great luck at this spot. Excellent customer service etc. I regularly drop off packages here without a hitch. Gary is especially concerned with doing things correctly, an asset to the postal service.
Be aware they randomly close during normal business hours. The card I received at my door said I could pick up the item the next day. After checking their website for the hours, I took time off during work to pick up the item, only to find the location was closed for unknown reasons. The post office used to be my go to shipping service, but now I am actively searching for a new shipping service.
Pretty sure this is one of the levels of Dante’s Inferno that didn’t make the cut. Abandon all hope ye who enter here, etc... No, they won’t be able to find your package. No, they don’t have USPS envelopes that make shipping cost half a much for some reason.
I’ve picked up one other certified letter from them, no problem... sign the GREEN return receipt I’m out..... once they locate the letter.... today April 6th, 2018.... I go to pick up another letter.... they not only want me to sign the return receipt.... they want me to sign date and put my address on the slip left for me to pick letter up. The letter I picked up previously... I did not have to sign date and put my address on the notice. They refused to give me the letter. I have arthritis in my hands. Complaint lodged. They never bring the certified letter to you to sign for they just put the notices in the box when delivering mail. BRING ME MY MAIL.... Don’t hold my mail hostage..... you have a signed return receipt. Deliver it to me or put it in my box.
It isn't even a Post Office. It is a USPS Carrier Annex. You can only drop off mail there if it has postage already on it. If you live in the area, you can pick up your packages there. THAT IS ALL. You cannot transact business there. No counter, no cash registers, no stamps for sale, not even an automated machine or a scale. I notice a lot of the reviews mention they do not answer their phone. That is probably because it is not a retail post office, it is a warehouse. There may be only one employee there that serves the public. That person is the one that goes to find your incoming mail piece and hand it to you. So if you need to call them, use the national toll free 800 number and they'll convey your message. Do not expect an immediate answer. I have been trying for two years to get Google Maps to create a different category, like US Postal Service Warehouse or something. Because if you search Google maps for the nearest POST OFFICE you get this. Except it isn't a Post Office. And the average postal customer has no idea what a CARRIER ANNEX is.
Horrible service, if thy weren’t funded by the government they would be long gone. Unfortunately for us they are and carrier use their infrastructure for the last mile delivery. I received a note saying an attempt was made, which is was not as I was home. I requested redelivery and received confirmation but no attempt was made, at least they did not leave a note. The original note also incorrectly stated the station hours so I wasted a trip down. This type of operation needs to improve or just shut down.
If you’d like your day ruined, this place guaranteed will do it. The lady at the window snapped my ID out of my hand just to check my name, and huffed and puffed when I asked her not to do that. She took 15 minutes to locate my package, then said she can’t find it. I questioned if she looked everywhere, She said “I don’t have to give you your package, I can return it to the sender”. Wow. Just wow. Nice job USPS.
This is the first time I have called customer service for 40 mins and no one took it up. On the other hand, it is discussing that the officer told me that they don’t have their mail men’s phone number. So does any one can tell me how do they connect their mail men who are outside for delivering? By afflatus? Or they have super power such as sixth sense?
If I could give them 0 stars I would. They NEVER bring your packages, they just bring a "we couldn't deliver, come pick it up" note. I've been calling the post office for an hour and a half, someone finally picked up "Brenda", and I expressed my annoyance that they never actually bring the packages, just a notice, and can they redeliver and leave it at the door. She said no, I said I knew they could walk down one flight of stairs, and she said the guy has gout and can't walk down the 8 stairs to the apartment, and the union would be on them if he had to, to which I expressed surprise that he can walk up and down the crazy hills of Russian Hill, but somehow one small flight of stairs down is not possible. Perhaps if the mailman has such horrific gout, he shouldn't be walking all over the neighborhood, no? And perhaps this place should hire more people to pick up the phones, as other reviewers on here and the internet have expressed annoyance that they never pick up their phones. Why is the post office SO unhelpful and seem like they are trying to make our lives more stressful? Makes me go POSTAL
Knock on the wood I was always happy with the service of this location. But Unfortunately since I live very close to them I can hear all the loud noises they make starting from 4 am, SO I hate you at the same time.
