We are staying short term in Winnemucca and I had an issue with receiving a package. I called the post office and Donna was absolutely a pleasure to work with. She was so friendly and helped us track down the package and held it for me at the post office to pick up. She called me back twice to give updates on the package. I’ve never had such wonderful customer service at a post office before. Thank you Donna!
I was traveling through Nevada from Utah and had a package I needed to get shipped quickly so we stopped here. It was an awful experience. I was treated so unbelievably rudely by the older man behind the counter. He treated me like a criminal for making a simple request. I still am dumbfounded as to what I did to make him so mad. Horrible first impression of this town, but luckily everyone else I encountered was kind.
had a general delivery to pick up. no line, the employees were very nice and helpful. quick and pleasant experience.
The older male working the counter is a complete arrogant low life who thinks he can talk to people how he wants to. He is extremely condescending in the way he speaks and thinks being a smart a$$ is acceptable. The ladies there are pleasant, he is awful!
Arrogant employees that just don't care to help or be courteous. Public employees at their worst. Trying to ship a simple Priority Mail package is like pulling teeth. I had to leave before I told the guy off!
Not the best customer service here but what do you expect they do get busy if you imagine a small town and only one post office what else can you expect.I did receive a good customer service here from only one postal office clerk.
Staff is usually fine. One employee I spoke to over the phone is either elderly or younger with a signifigant lack of understanding of efficiency process. I explained the situation very clearly and asked for clarification of certain rules dealing with my package. She must have explained the same thing over and over that had nothing to do with what I was asking. Sometimes you can't give/receive proper information when dealing with someone that isn't necessarily qualified. I would keep requests very VERY simple with this respective office. Better to do your own research or speak with someone higher up the totem pole. Still thankful when they deliver my mail.
I love this place! One catch though. A package I left on the counter to be shipped was stolen before a worker could grab it. :/ That being said, I still think that most of the staff are courteous and kind, and those that aren’t are just very direct. It’s the post office! It would be hard to work there! Sure, it’s busy... if you go during lunch or after work when anyone else is going. Compared to many others, this post office is nice.
This establishment is a complete joke! Only one person to provide costumer service, hopefully you don’t have an appointment to get to because you will be waiting in line for a very long time. I booked appointments over a month in advance to do passports for our children, upon arrival with our paperwork filled out completely they informed us that their camera is broken and we will have to go have their photos done somewhere else. After a mad dash to Walmart and back we get to wait in line again for 15 minutes because they still only have 1 employee waiting on costumers. Needless to say our prescheduled appointment and pre-complete paperwork did not help us to speed up the process. Efficiency is not in their vocabulary.
I hate to write a BAD review - I would rather say nothing and just let it pass, but my experience here at USPS Winnemucca was so far below reasonable, that it left a bad taste in my mouth regarding the whole area. This was all because of ONE ANGRY COUNTER PERSON and everyone else we met in the area was Really Nice !!!. We live in a motorhome and travel full time. Getting things we need can be a challenge. We use Amazon Prime for many supplies that are hard to find. Prime gives us "free shipping", but we don't get to tell them HOW we want our items sent. That is where this went wrong. We were only in town for a week and needed three three gallon boxes of motor oil for our diesel. Amazon had the right oil which is hard to find at a Great Price. We were not able to specify which carrier they were to use, but most of our packages had been coming via USPS, so we asked Amazon to ship to "Our Name c/o: General Delivery, USPS Winnemucca". Most of our items did come via USPS and arrived without a problem, BUT A BOX OF OIL was delivered by UPS to this Post Office and that somehow set this lady off !!! She was angry with me and insisted that I owed the Post Office $21.95 in "Postage Due", because THEY had to touch my box. I explained our visit to the area, why we had asked for General Delivery and that I had done all that I could, to ensure that the Post Office would be the Carrier, but it was no good. I offered to chip in "coffee money" because they had been bothered, but no, she had to rip into me !!! I kept telling her that I had done all I could to get this to turn out right, but that I had no control over Amazon and showed her some of the other items that HAD COME VIA USPS... ...still no good... We find most folks we meet in the smaller towns we stop in to be just Nice and happy to have us there for a visit. Not this lady. We probably spent $500 in Winnemucca and were happy to do it and help the local economy, but never again !!!!
