Letter mailed July 25th certified mail. Clerk applied the proper postage and said letter would be on its way. Letter went to Columbus facility than back to New Albany TWICE!!!! Letter was sent back from New Albany to Columbus. TWICE!!! Letter arrived at destination Mn only to be sent back to New Albany again. Never delivered as mailed after 17 days. Four visits to post office with no reason as to why letter keeps getting returned. Address was clear and easily readable with return address. Third return to New Albany on Aug 10th 17 days later, I cancelled delivery and decided to use UPS. Reason for non delivery was post office clerk put postage stamp in wrong location!! I explained the letter contained medical/financial records needed for a cancer patient in Mn. Nobody was willing to find the cause or solution, they couldn’t have cared less. Once a package is mailed they think their job in over. I have lived in New Albany for 49 years and have seen many changes, but I have never seen such rude, inefficient people that couldn't care less about finding a solution to a problem that they created. The postmaster never did come out to the counter to help in anyway. I was told I could go to downtown to Columbus library and get on a computer and intercept the delivery!!!! Only reason I will ever go to Post Office again at this location is to buy stamps. If they ever need community support, I will do everything in my power to reject it. Get rid of the postmaster at that location and get somebody in there that is willing to help customers!
People at New Albany post office are good My only problem is : packages are not being delivered but either marked as tracking as delivered in my mail box or couldn’t deliver with ask/request to visit new Albany office to pick it up. If you visit to post office, they couldn’t identify the package as well. Something definitely wrong with delivery person or the way this is occurring for multiple customers. Noticed other customers have similar issues in reviews. Hope USPS takes some action to resolve this and improve their customer service!! Update : I opened a case by calling customer service and checked back within USPS office here in person. They called for 2 days checking if package received or not. They closed the case without delivering the package. I advised her : not to close the case , but she was confident providing information saying will update me next day. I didn’t receive call next day and then package did not arrive still. Totally unsatisfied with customer service and the associates within this USPS office. Hope they improve the service ! I’ll be reinitiating the case and initiate for refund as next steps.
I live in New Albany and have had only excellent experiences with post office and my mail delivery. I'm surprised by the negative reviews - I've never waiting more than 3 or 4 minutes at the post office and they've been friendly and helpful. When I've done a "mail hold" it has always worked well. They hold my mail and then deliver it upon my return. Very convenient. I really appreciate this post office and the mail service in this community.
Wrong mail delivered to my address often. Call post office and they tell me they will talk to carrier. This has happened at least 5 times. Tried to talk to postmaster twice but always busy.
I’ve been to this location many times, and there have been a handful of times where a lady with platinum blonde hair has scanned my packages then threw them into the bin. Those packages are fragile, and she’s very rough with them. I haven’t had any issues with the other workers, because they actually walk the packages over and gently place them in the bin. She needs to learn how to handle other peoples belongings with care.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I have never encountered staff so rude in my life. There was a long line and the woman working the counter was complaining the entire time. No way should she be working in customer service. Her behavior was ridiculous and entirely inappropriate.
Rude woman with the big glasses...uncalled for and several other people said the same in her actions towards them. Gentleman said she better not show up in my court.
Quick and easy, just needed a stamp to send a letter. In and out in 5 minutes. Came here one other time and did the self service for a package, also easy. Great place
I have used the New Albany post office many times for urgent delivery and packages, the postal workers have been professional and personable. It is important to listen to how you need to complete the paperwork so everything goes smoothly. It is a post office, there is a pace of work and lines can get long but with patience and understanding on everyone's part, your parcel will get to where it needs to be.
In my entire life I have always been a supporter of the US Postal Service. Since moving to New Albany, I have experienced nothing but issues. Packages being delivered to addresses other than my own address. I use informed delivery and continue to report mail undelivered and nothing is done about it. My wife filed an individual change of address for her mail only, yet all of our mail was changed. The change label even had HER name on it but was addressed to me. The last straw was a package that was put on the wrong carrier’s truck, so it was not delivered on time. Instead the package was returned and held at the post office for pickup due to customer request. I didn’t request this, but I stopped in to pick up my package and they said it was on the carrier’s truck to be delivered… guess what??? No, it was not delivered.
