Our local post office opens at 8:30am perfect for dropping off packages or in my case picking up a last minute card and gift card. The employees are always helpful and professional even despite being understaffed at times. I especially enjoy coming here because it is easy to find parking and be in and out.
I initiated an intercept request online that should have been very easy to fulfill, and this post office failed to intercept a package that was sitting in their possession for over 24 hours. They are clearly not scanning all packages before they get loaded onto the delivery truck, if they did they would not have failed to intercept the item before it was delivered. USPS says they make “every attempt” to locate items for package intercept, but it doesn’t look like this post office the final destination made ANY attempt to scan it or stay organized. I can understand why people who live here hate going to this branch. I’m sure if they can’t use a barcode scanner, they’re just peachy to deal with otherwise.
A nightmare. I hate living here because of this post office. They lose mail all the time, won't delivery packages, and never have anyone working the counter. Most recently, 12/15, they refused to delivery my package, then said they were holding it here and I had to come in and get it. Well, I went in today 12/19 and they never found it. I waited 45 minutes for the person to go behind the counter and never come back with my package. There is no other way for me to get this package, I cannot request redelivery, so I am stuck in limbo. Previously, they refused to mail an outgoing package of mine until I filed a claim. The packaged had been sitting at the post office for WEEKS and then it magically moved when the claim was filed. The package was time sensitive because it was a warranty product and I missed the window because of this post office. Drive to any other post office. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
I went to drop a few letters in their mailbox before going in and the mail was literally crammed coming through the slot like the box was full and hadn’t been picked up in a year. Have NEVER seen anything like it. Instead of driving off like I should have I went in to drop off labeled online return packages. It’s been over a week and there’s no evidence of the packages having been dropped off much less shipped. I am a hundred percent sure this will end up a claim I’m going to have to make. Adding to this review - I ordered something from Elgin. Half hour drive away. FOUR DAYS AGO. And it’s not here
Post office clerks were on break from 3 to 3:45, which is fine, but the parcel drop off was also locked. What is the point of leaving your doors open then? I wasted my time coming here and I couldn't even drop off my prepaid packages causing me to be late for another engagement. What is the point? At least leave the drop box open. Incredibly inconvenient experience.
Open at 8:30am, great. "We can't receive your package because there is no counter service until 10am". Says an employee sitting on her azz with a big smile on her face. Worthless to me.
Fantastic staff, especially Earl! Sometimes it's gets busy and they don't have the staff to keep up. It nice that they have a postage dispenser machine that you can use if the line is long. Also it is available after hours because it is in the area with the po boxes that stay open for much longer hours.
Had a package from a friend be delivered to the DG USPS and I waited in line, told the lady I had a pickup and she told me she doesent have it without even looking it up. Told me there should have been a delivery notice on my door and said I need to go to my post office near me. The app says it's in downers grove how are they supposed to know where my local post office is if they didn't have my home address to begin with? Now I'm on the phone wondering what I need to do to get this package.
Worst customer service Their staff always rude, impatient and never pick our complete deliveries up UPS is way better than USPS
beyond slow. 5+ people in line and one singular employee. it sounds like a library there is so little work going on
