Got there almost an hour after opening, no one was at the counter for a long time. There was people in the back and the saw me and no one alerted the teller. Once the teller came up they greeted me, but when it came to describing why my package needed an extra fee to mail they had an attitude and didn't want to explain why it couldn't be mailed. So I went to another post office and they explained and I paid the fee.
My regular mail person retired and since then I’ve had nothing but trouble getting my mail on time. I send in payments to various companies such as Comed and they’re not received and now I’m being charged late fees. Never had this problem in the last 20 years. My husband had called the postmaster and there no resolve just excuses. This is a terrible post office.
I moved to this area in July and completed a change of address form. It has been almost one month, and I have had difficulty getting anything to ship to my address. I have called multiple times informing them of the issue only to be told, " it takes months for my address to update in AMS." Also, it remains a mystery who inputs information in this AMS system. Although polite, I do not find any of the workers helpful. They lack pride and ownership of their work. Avoid this location if you can.
Multiple encounters with the Indian guy left me very aggravated. Overall service is super slow. I've shipped countless packages with other locations and he is the only one giving me issues. Dude has a chip in his shoulder but will pretend like he's doing nothing wrong. This location is also very tenacious on selling you overpriced tape.
I had the great experience of working with Keisha to get my passport situated. She was so awesome when I realized I did not have a check or debit card to pay for the passport. She told me I could come back after I ran home, even though she could have totally made me reschedule as the passport appointments are 15 minutes long. She was also really lovely to chat with.
After reading all the negative reviews, I wanted to share my experience both historically and from today. I myself have never had a bad experience at the Lake Zurich post office, whether it was buying stamps, mailing packages, adding a vacation hold, or changing my address and forwarding mail. Have there been times where I witnessed a worker be short with a customer, yes, but that was far and few between over the past 20 something years. Today I went in to request a change of address form and I was greeted politely and promptly given the form. I went to my car and completed the form. I then went back in and stood behind 4 people in line. One of the ladies called me up immediately since she knew I was only turning in the form. Prompt and friendly service!
USPS delivered a very expensive package $800 fragile item to us today few hours ago.. and left it under our door without knocking, therefore not even making me aware it's there. I walked outside the door to check our mailbox we do not have 2 little steps from our door down to the ground, so not knowing that something was there, I accidentally stepped on the box, slipped and fall, and twisted my ankle... Even though under my 124 lbs weight our FRAGILE EXPENSIVE item could have been damaged due to this accident, it somehow miraculously survived my fall. No damage to the item, however I did hurt myself over that box that they carelessly placed under our feet being a tripping hazard and did not make us aware they delivered! Unacceptable service!! Such accident happened to me for the 1st time. Once again, because no-one knocked to tell us we have a delivery and the box was placed straight in the middle under the door. What's astonishing is that I am even home all day to accept delivery, if they knocked on the door to deliver in to my hands, but they didn't bother.. Oh I forgot, last time they delivered this fragile item, it already was being damaged during transit! How reckless that is?! it's a $800 item and I had to send it back. Inside their service is just as bad and slow. The line goes outside the door of the post office often times, and only 1 person is working, who is not at all in a hurry.. Terrible service overall... I wish the training to be provided for improvement purposes to USPS employees on how to respect residents' packages, be mindful of residents' properties, how to handle packages, be mindful where they live deliveries, and on efficiency of their work inside of the post office.
Great post office. Slow service but staff always help me if I have any questions
I came to lodge a missing package, the staff first rejected my plea since I didn’t have a tracking number, but then supervisor Kaushal helped me identify the tracking number with the details I have and finally able to track the missing package, he was patient in helping out and took time to locate the shipment, I truly appreciate the help. I agree USPS can sometimes be pain to deal with but employees as Kaushal really make a difference.kudos to him for helping me find the package. In the end I am happy with the service provided.
Was third in line. No one working the counter. The first person had not yet been helped 8:20 AM. Lady comes from the back looks at the first guy rudely asks him if that box is sealed. He says not yet, the direction he had gotten from the company was to bring it to the PO to get a postage paid envelope or box. Her reply was that they do not seal it, buy some tape. He asked about the box the email referenced and tried to show her the email. She says to him that they lied to him and refused to look at the printed email and told him if he wasn't buying tape she couldn't help him any further. Second in line steps up with a package in a envelope/bag style wrapping. Employee says that she won't ship it like that. Tells them they need a box. Customer asks if they have any flat rate boxes left. Her response to him was to go check the display by the door. He does and says it looks empty and asks if others are located somewhere else. Her response, sorry I can't help you. And then she called me to the counter. I presented her with the 4 small packages all pre-paid through EBAY. She immediately started shouting at me that I had the wrong labels. Scanned them weighed them, and gives me the receipt. Says to me that I'm lucky i over estimated the weight otherwise they'd have to charge my account for using the wrong label. Would tell me what was wrong about it.
