The good: The associate I spoke with on the phone while attempting to locate a late, missing Overnight Express envelop spoke clearly and kindly. She apologized that my important item had been lost. The bad: The system only showed the first major city the Express was scanned at, then there were no more updates. I shipped on the 3rd. Was promised for the 4th. I called on the 5th and got shoulder shrugging. UPDATES ? No, you won't get an update even though you list your phone and email on the envelop. $28.95 and they don't send tracking; unless you sign up for that. MONEY BACK? Your money is not automatically refunded to your card. You have to go back into a post office or go online with the tracking number. STILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY REFUNDED. You'll get a check in a few days that you must no deposit. TIME WASTED How much time can I waste on a failed system like the USPS EXPRESS. Why didn't I go to FEDEX or UPS? I was embarrassed to be late with my item. I lost credibility with that person. The EXPRESS finally arrived two days AFTER it was guaranteed. Then I had to work at getting my money returned. How do other delivery companies keep their promises but USPS can't. This product costs 50x that of a typical envelop and I expected real performance. I'm disappointed that they lost track of my EXPRESS or wouldn't share true updates with me. I am disappointed that they wouldn't communicate to me so that I could cushion the blow of this important delivery being late. I am disappointed that USPS made me apply to get my money back after they failed me so miserably. I suffered financial loss and want more than a lousy refund check. LESSON LEARNED Go with FEDex or UPS. The Postal Service has slid so far. The lady I talked to on the phone was not surprised. It was just another lost EXPRESS. This must happen alot.
I couldn't get a package or track it for a few days and finally a manager Nicky helped me and found my package. Plus Jeff is always very polite and gave me some life changing advice. Thanks guys for helping me not go postal also for always beings like a neighbor.
It's so hard to get a human and not a recording, and I don't know who sent me the incoherent email stating they aren't delivering my packages upstairs anymore but you guys need to do better. I let all that go and now my kids school calls me to tell me USPS sent my letters from them back stamped 'vacant', so now you're not going to deliver to my mailbox either? This is why we should have an option to pay taxes, because the government has the option to do their job.
First let me say that the staff I have encountered at the front desk have all been friendly, helpful and polite. My problem is with the delivery staff. We had an Amazon package that was supposed to be delivered on Sunday by the post office and it didn't show up. Our cameras did not show any delivery being made to the house. I contacted the post office on Monday morning. The phone rang and rang and I was put on hold which was never answered. When I finally got to talk to someone, she bordered on rude and showed no interest in the lack of delivery. She said it showed as delivered and she had GPS to prove it. She left a copy at the front desk for me. She was not willing to do any investigation. It was totally my problem. On Tuesday morning, the package showed up sitting on the top of our mailbox. This isn't the first problem we've had with PO delivery. A couple packages went to the other side of MI, and another four streets over from us. Two were recovered because we were on top of it, and the supervising man at the PO was cooperative. The other was lost forever. People who don't care shouldn't be working with people.
It's the Post Office on Monday and the line was getting long. A clerk asked for help with customers and before you know it there were 2 additional clerks. That was the first time I have seen that. I am impressed. And it's not even the Christmas rush.

The management is the worst period. I had mail on hold til June and recieved a letter from then in August. I had mail on hold til Oct. 3 went to get it today "Supervisor" could not find it ??? Why because they have a technique he said. Yes lazy and inefficient. According to him instead of a hold bin they take it out and keep it on the mail truck . Really,???? never heard of that in my life.
We've been impressed with the professionalism of the postal staff at the Merritt island PO for the past 4 years we've lived here. They're helpful, courteous and apologize for the wait even when only a few minutes has passed. Yet, I've witnessed the rudeness of customers loudly complaining they have to wait in line really?. Not once has a postal worker at this location been disrespectful to a customer even when subjected to childish behavior. High marks to the postal staff at the MI post office for their patience and excellent service.
It's NYE and I never, I mean ever stop at this location for mail because I get mail at home. On this hectic day, Kristen the supervisor at the Merritt Island location made my day!! She responded to my delivery issue long story with an address change and change of mailbox lock, no keys in the morning and by the end of the day, had my package given to me at my doorstep. Excellent customer service & family environment I felt when greeted and asked for her when I walked in. I tried not to get my hopes up when she told me "she could call the carrier to see if he's in the area to meet you for the lock change". She came back moments later to tell me "If I left now, the carrier could meet me at the mailbox. Also, the lock was changed already and the keys can stick if you can't open the box." Good stuff!!! Thank you!!! I got home in minutes before the carrier showed up to let me in and to grab the partial box key and my NYE outfit handed to me, in a bag of course! Customer service level is top notch in my opinion. You made my issue easy & relaxed so thank you for your very helpful phone call to the carrier and being there for the locals! Honestly, i've never had a problem here. Maximum wait i've ever had was 5 mins and that was during xmas time. I appreciate the workers here because they are polite, amiable and often go out of their way to help me with what I need.
