My local post office 1800 Ashbourne Rd, Elkins Park refuses to scan any prepaid shipping label packages, requiring them to be left in an unsupervised pile at the end of the counter or put down a mail chute. When I wait in line to try to get my packages scanned, they refuse, stating that the line can't be used for that purpose even though it takes longer to say that than it does to actually scan the item. My most recent non-scanned 27 packages from Thursday, December 23, 2021, are still not showing as scanned into the USPS online tracking system days later. These are items that I have no way of knowing whether will ever reach my customer's destination and that's really frustrating and unfair to us small businesses! How does this pass as reasonable customer service on the part of the US Postal Service?? Sometimes packages don't get scanned for 24 to 30 hours later. My customers think that I am scamming them as the packages show not in the USPS system. There needs to be a rule requiring that ALL packages be scanned when picked up or accepted by the USPS local offices.
I feel like the staff are treating me like a dog, perhaps because I am asian, and even I haven't encountered any service oriented behavior from this particular branch. In a few years, I predict that I may have to bow down to the staff in gratitude for allowing me to send a package.
Not really sure why the walk in hours for passports say 10-1 when that’s not actually true. Might be a good idea to change that
The staff who helped today is really nice, I like her very much, thank you for helping to apply for a passport!
They offer walk-in passport appointment Wednesday 10-1 pm
HORRIBLEEEE!!!! Staff is So rude! Always acting like it’s an inconvenience when people come in and they have to help and god forbid you do not know everything you need instead of helping it’s like hand waving and attitude. The shorter lady with glasses legit speaks to people like they’re children and super slow when someone is asking a question that seems obvious to her. And NO TAPE?! I have never been to a post office that doesn’t have tape on the counter instead we’re asked to pay for $4 tape for one package….. do better please.
Recently left the post office at this location. The guy at the counter he looked like he might be Asian who helped me with a transaction was not professional when I asked him about the increased pricing regarding priority mailing. Instead of being courteous with answering my inquiry, he came across like an a**hole. I will make a mental note of him so that if I visit again, and he comes across in a similar fashion, I will check him on the spot.
Helpful and pleasant staff. Outdoor mailboxes no longer available because of recent thefts.
The staff were friendly and helpful fixed my horrible packing job. Lots of parking and the building is large and well laid out. Easy peasy.
I understand some people don’t like their jobs but that is 0 reason to treat customers like their an annoyance. These women working today made the entire lobby uncomfortable, you could cut the tension with a knife. I’ve never been employed by the Postal Service so when I go there trying to figure out how to mail documents certified I expect help… not irritated workers behind the counter. I walked out without finishing my mail. I won’t ever use this post office again.
