Extremely fun place to take the whole family. I would plan on 2.5 hours for USS Alabama and another hour for USS Drum. Gift shop has some fun memorabilia so plan on spending a little bit of time there. The inside of the ship can get very warm in sections with less air conditioning. Definitely bring plenty of water and good walking boots! Very educational and informative. The self guide tour paths are clearly marked out so you will not get lost. Highly recommend doing the outside yellow tour early in the morning while the temperature is still low. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The cafeteria at the memorial did not have any staff so I was not able to eat there. Will definitely be back with more family member in the near future!
Lots of fun here! It's great that you have a self tour. You can view the vast size of the historic battle ship, submarine, and aircraft inside the building. It takes several hours if you want to view everything in detail. Rich history to learn indeed.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
What a wonderful time. Thank you to all who served on this beautiful ship. Thank you to the children who made it possible in 1964 to bring her home! Lots of ladders. The ONLY negative was the gift shop closed an hour before the exhibit and it is the last thing you go through when you leave. They should stay open for a 1/2 after the exhibit closes. Well worth the time. There is a $5.00 cash only parking fee.
If you are into history, this is the place for you. The battleship is amazing and you can wonder the ship on your own. They also have planes and tanks from different era's. You can easily spend 3 hours or more here. It's very well worth the money it cost to get in. They also have a world war 2 submarine. It's an impressive place.
Really beautiful place. I could have spent all day there looking at everything! We used the outside kennels available for rent, so we tried to finish in an hour before it got too hot for our dog, but we loved that was offered! It's definitely worth visiting. We all loved it!Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$16–20
This place is amazing! The battleship itself is really well displayed with 3 routes to follow with detailed plaques. In addition, there is a submarine, many cool aircraft, and tanks. A must see but plan for over 2 hrs. We have to go back to finish our exploration.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$21–30
I loved the self guided tour to go at your own pace and see so much of the battleship. The history is amazing. However, keep in mind that to view the different levels, you need to go up and down several stairs with a high incline and some narrow openings. Worth it to see. Also, liked the other old military aircraft and vehicles in the park.
Pretty awesome park. It should be noted though, it’s 5$ to get in and then 18$ to actually see the boat. So total 23$ for an Adult!! It was so worth it though. Ship was really cool. Make sure to take the tour guide paper book so you know what there is to see. The submarine and museum was also really awesome. I’d say you could spend a good 2-3 hours here. Longer if you take your time and appreciate what there is to see!
A fundamental place to visit if you appreciate history and aviation/mariner science. They have added so many new exhibits and artifacts, along with the restored submarine that you can enter and explore, and new restored spaces inside the USS Alabama. A lot to see and appreciate. Plan on going from open to close because it is a lot to take in but it is definitely worth it.
This place was awesome. Enjoyed the rich history. Enjoyed the submarine experience. Above all my favorite thing was the engine room of the shop. Hands down some of the coolest things. Our scout troop stayed the night and I would have enjoyed spending more time on board had I of known they allowed people to explore so much of the ship. This was fantastic for the boys to explore around just as much as it was for the adults. I absolutely recommend visiting and staying the night if you can. Be aware the racks you'll sleep in are very rigid so expect to basically feel as though you slept on the floor. Hope this is helpful.
