We're a group of people who love the Ute Pass region and its fascinating past, and together we strive to ensure that our efforts today will enable future generations to also discover and appreciate the area's history.
Our staff and volunteers work tirelessly to preserve and protect the Ute Pass region’s rich historical heritage. The society collects and displays historical artifacts, provides educational programs, and manages History Park (adjacent to the Woodland Park Public Library), which includes a museum and several historical buildings. The society also operates a gift shop and manages an extensive library of historical photos and research materials.
The mission of the Ute Pass Historical Society is to preserve and protect the Ute Pass region’s historical heritage. To accomplish this mission, the society will collect historical artifacts, provide educational programs of historical relevance, operate an area resource center or museum, and engage in other activities that will support and enhance historical preservation and education.
