Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable ENTs in addition to admin staff. SO helpful with instructions on prescriptions and pharmacies. They got back to my phone call message within 2 hours on a weekday. Finally, they were so kind and understanding. Thank you.
At the Ear Nose Throat department of the UVM Medical Center ENT we encountered extremely rude, entitled and prejudiced racist wise people that works there answering the phone or “helping you” at their desk info area. After we complaint about them to their bosses, their administration people were as rude, prejudiced, biased, uncaring and as racist as their employees were. They and the medical director will not believe the patient, they would not try to fix things. So in that light if you don’t take their abuse, then they will immediately gang up against you! We as a racial minority have recently experienced that; and as another minority person told us: “The mistreatment and biases against minorities and hidden racist behavior is well documented in the healthcare system,” and this UVM Med. Center ENT department is not the exception at all. Because of that we rated them one star. If you can avoid them, don’t go there, as if you complaint about their unfair treatment, as the other person told us: then they will not longer scheduled you or even banned from there. They will then proceed to change the facts of what really happened, as we experienced too, and they will do that to protect their unhealthy narcissistic view of themselves, and of their practice. Why isn’t the higher offices within the UVM Medical Center taking note of the less than 2.6 star, abysmal rating, such department has here on Google reviews, and take steps to fix it and help the patients?
They require a referral from a PCP before you are seen, even if your health insurance doesn't require it. They also require a UVM-administered PCR covid test 1 week before appointment, and then quarantining at home the days between when they give you the test and get seen by the doctor. This is required for all of 2021-2022, regardless of public covid rules, regardless of if you are fully vaccinated. They are also always booked out 3-4 months ahead, and if you have to change an appointment they basically can't find you anything within that season. How are they supposed to track allergies, ear infections and sinusitis if they can only see me once a year then? I got tired of jumping through these hoops as their inflexibility was always a huge interference for normal working adults and families. Too difficult to deal with. I found an awesome, attentive ENT with a private practice 1 hour outside of Burlington who does not require covid tests for vaccinated patients. Even though it is farther away the drive is worth it to me if I only have to take one afternoon off from work.
So frustrated with my experience. I have been waiting for 4 months to see a specialist on top of the months of trying different things with my primary care doctor. I was called today to confirm that my appointment for next week was going to be telehealth due to covid. Totally understandable. They then confirm that they have openings today and that I could move up my appointment if I wanted to. I agree cause I've been waiting a long time already. I waited for the doctor to call me for the appointment. 30 minutes goes by, 1 hour...I call back to confirm that my appointment was still happening and they did confirm I was still on the schedule and that the doctor was running a bit behind. I keep waiting. Another hour goes by and I call back in because I don't have all day to wait around for this call. They confirm they skipped my appointment and that I will have to use my original later appointment. To say I am mad is an understatement. My time was wasted about an issue I have been waiting months to get checked. I wish they would have made time for me today seeing as I had already waited over 2 hours to be "seen".
Pretentious not helpful Dr. Office. If you have another Dr opinion who’s not an ENT it’s not a good opinion according to them. Very offensive and talks down to patients instead of trying to help peoples lives.
Terrible customer phone service, condescending, unprofessional and rude behavior, stay away from this place.
Awesome facility and staff. The highest standard of excellence, I am always impressed by the professionalism of everyone who works at UVM.
Very capable and professional group of physicians. Honest to the degree of admittedly being puzzled by the symptoms.
Just here to have my ears checked
