Beautiful clinic. My doctor presented himself timely and was helpful. Professional staff. First hour of parking is free. I'm always impressed with UW Medicine.
Don't waste your time. Canceled my appointment that was booked super far in advance and I ended up not being seen for months.... and months. Look elsewhere for timely appointments and good service.
I got a referral from my primary care to see an Optometrist here. My appointment has been canceled and rescheduled 3 or 4 times by UW Medicine and got moved incrementally from mid 2022 to March 2023. I just got another call saying they are cancelling my appointment with no ability to reschedule and to reach out to another clinic.
I’ve had really good experiences at this urgent care in the past, but I had to do 3 separate urgent care visits in 1 week to have all my initial health concerns reviewed. Recently, I had a fall, hurt my wrist, got a minor concussion and was dealing with some pain and swelling in my throat. All in 1 week. The first visit, the care provider only reviewed my wrist, even though I had shared everything that I had going on. On the second visit, care provider only focused on my sever headache and nausea even though I had shared about throat pain again. This last visit, I had developed a pink eye and the 3rd care provider shared its potential association with the swelling and pain from my throat. They are doing bacteria test and have only given me eye drops. So now I’m dealing with a concussion, sprained wrist, swollen throat, and pink eye. As a loyal UW patient I’m disappointed in the care and cannot help but feel not heard by the care team and lead providers… *** Note: I would much rather go see my primary care provider but they are fully booked which is why I went to urgent care.
I went in to urgent care Tuesday July 26th and because it was later afternoon approx 5PM I was not surprised to wait 1 1/2 hrs as reception predicted they were very nice but she left the desk at 6-7PM I was surprised that no one had identification among the care staff IE Doctor and Nurse. My problem was a swollen painful hand /wrist on my dominant Rt side which had persisted for 1 week. Exam was was uncomfortable but necessary. Doc suggested Xray - which i wanted - to assure that it was not broken. Rad Tech very nice; did her job efficiently; the whole business took until approx 730 PM then I returned to exam room. Then it seems that the nurse or CMA sort-of-forgot about me. By 8pm the Doc told me that she wanted a radiologist to read the films and that I should wear a splint in the meantime. The Nurse or CMA again spaced out and came back two times to fit my split she forgot she had already done it once! Then she said i was done, could go home and that "someone would call me with the radiology read the next day" I didn't have the her name nor the doctors name neither was wearing any ID. I was hesitant: no phone contact, no time estimation or who would call me. I thought this rather odd but i left. The next day Wednesday July 27th I waited for the entire day for that call. When it didn't come I called the UW Ravenna Clinic number from the website around 6PM-630PM and from the list of opinions reception was closed I chose "nurse" as it seemed the closest category to fill my needs. The other offerings of Billing and Appointments did not seem appropriate. When the "nurse "came on she was obviously angry with me. "Why was I calling on this line?" I tired to explain but she was not happy. After some wait she reported that "the films were read and SOMEONE would call me Wednesday eve at 8PM with the report" Well, again I waited I checked for VM and recent calls HX on my phone = nothing; so after 9PM I gave up. There was no one else to contact to sort this out and I wanted to know if my hand /wrist was broken. So today Thursday 28th I waited for several hours and then took my chances and called the UW Clinic walk in or urgent care number, it was not clear exactly which BUT SOMEONE picked up the phone! After a bit of wait, this person: nurse? receptionist? CNA read my clinic notes telling me that the films were negative. I thanked her and said I would NOT be visiting this clinic in the future based on my treatment. I believe that you should know that you have a major communication problem in this deportment. Waiting nearly 48hrs to get rad report was not good. Some one at your clinic must take responsibility to monitor communications, identify themselves and follow up with exact instructions on how to get report results. All your good works amount to nothing if you do not take care of and communicate with the patient. Yours truly Jacquelyn Vail
arrived at a obgyn appointment for an IUD with no correspondence given about what to expect, or how to prepare for the appointment. I arrived 10 minutes their cutoff that they don't state after my appointment was due to start. was told that I was too late, and to go to urgent care if I really needed to be seen before october.
This place is horrible at it's job and it's poorly structured. Do not even think about attending this hospital for anything; This place will ruin everything about your information and it will chase after you for your debt after they told you that the insurance will cover it. The staffs here does not do their jobs correctly; in fact, I doubt their english skills. Personally, I repeated my insurance information to them like 4 times and then a few months after I get invoices about debts I owe them. At first, I thought my insurance doesn't cover any of it but then after I called both parties and finally got someone to speak with, I realized that they did not even put my insurance information into their system and also grabbed a random address as my address. UW needs to fix their system for the amount of reputation they gathered.
I had a chemical eye burn. Went up to the front desk. Told me it was a 5 hour wait before even asking me what was wrong. Waited 40 minutes. Filled out all my L+I paperwork. Sat there.... Sat there... Finally a nurse? They didn't tell me if they were a nurse.. lol. She says, " oh we can't help you, we don't have the equipment". She says I need to go to Harbor view. Of they would not recommend any other place because they are affiliated. There are several other EDs in the area. I go to Ballard swedish. They diagnosed a corneal abrasion and all they needed was a black light and some eye drops. How the hell does an urgent care not have that. A multimillion dollar organization?
I hate this place for just one reason that who is the nurse, I didn’t even know her name because she didn’t say hello or hi or whatever she was so rude, really incredibly rude she doesn’t deserve to be in a care health just a note, she is tall and wide with a black hair? I think everyone know her.
Not sure if snow-pocalypse 2021 contributed to the short wait time, but my wife was seen quickly and efficiently. We did the online check-in and it was easy for her to get seen and a needed prescription. Look forward to coming back for any future urgent care needs.
