The mission of the UW-Stevens Point Department of Sociology and Social work is to: prepare student to use the sociological imagination in developing a critical understanding of the interaction among individuals, groups, and institutions within and between societies; to prepare students for effective and responsibility participation in society; and
to prepare students for professional fields related to sociology and social work and for graduate study in sociology and social work.
